It’s obvious to the most casual observer that Iran IS our enemy.

Where they rank on priority scale is a legitimate matter for public debate.

Personally, I believe the US can seal our border and take care of Norklandia and Iran at the same time.

With very, very few ground troops involved, except at our border. Most thinking people would agree.

... for 25 years the State depot [sic] and the CIA have called Iran the worst supporter of terrorism of any country.

I'm astonished to learn that there is even a single Freeper who still believes a single word "the State Dept. and CIA" have to say about ANYTHING anymore.

Is this the same State Dept. and CIA that was hard at work rigging the 2016 election against Donald Trump?

Pardon my French, but you really must be f#%&ing kidding me.

you perpetuate the fallacious Free Republic Dogma.

The 19 Saudis were out cast radical followers of Usama bin Ladin

They did not represent the good folks in Saudi Arabia

“I think we should attend to America’s interests here at home, instead”

I think we should too. But the two are not mutually exclusive.

The US has legitimate interests in a military confrontation with Iran, even if the Saudis didn’t exist. Legitimate national interests of a strategic variety.

That's the point. WE DON'T SEAL OUR BORDER.

Isn't that a huge red flag for you when it comes to anything else this government does?

Assuming the truth, as I understand it, BOTH actions are in the exclusive purview of the current POTUS.

Your gripe is not with an amorphous “US Government” but with POTUS his own self.

I welcome your information that another country supports more terrorism. I guess we have just wrongly made these innocent peaceful muslims the bad guy with no justification.

Baloney. Saudi government officials funded and otherwise assisted them. They were playing that same old “here’s money and do what you want, but keep it out of the kingdom” game.

After North Korea, Saudi Arabia is probably the most brutally repressive nation on earth and shares none of America’s traditions. You are probably even more free in China than in Saudi Arabia. At best it’s a toss up.

And yet there is never a shortage of repubs and ex-presidents busily fellating the Saudi feudal monarchs. The American people widely despise the Saudis, and our government is in love with them.
So our government always has to use scary propaganda to get Americans to get behind the Saudi agenda.

Legitimate national interests of a strategic variety.

Please explain them to us.

A nation of draft-dodging leaders sending someone else's kids to fight wars in sh!t-holes all over the world has no moral credibility anymore.

I'll repeat the same thing I posted when John Bolton's name first came up as a possible nominee for the NSA post:

I voted for Donald Trump because I was tired of Ivy League globalist pr!cks running this nation's foreign policy. Anyone who still thinks the invasion of Iraq was a good idea shouldn't even be allowed to clean the toilets in the White House.

I don't trust any of them.

If I wanted an open-borders Sunni Muslim in the White House I would have voted for Jeb Bush.

Just curious, is this the same State Dept and CIA that still tells us Trump is a Russian agent, and that the Russians threw the election...that global warming is America’s top threat... and that they didn’t launch a coup?

THAT State dept and CIA?

Building a bomb and ICBMs and threatening us and Israel doesn’t have to take place in the US. Your question has no relevance to threat level. Are you a democrat? Besides I’d have to call the CIA for that answer. LOL.

Pakistan is a far worse radical Islamic regime than Iran has ever been ... and yet even harboring Osama bin Laden for years they still operate without even so much as a word of criticism from the U.S. government.

Wake up and smell the coffee, dude.

Your libertarian roots should have given you a much stronger bullsh!t detector than what you're demonstrating here.

> Those would never attack us. <

Please take another look at that list (post #17).

A. Yes, Iran would like to attack us.
B, C, D. These would all be false-flag operations, to get us to attack Iran.

“Remember the Maine!”

Shia is about 10% of the moslem world. Sunni is about 90%. And the terror breakdown is mostly the same.

When it comes to murder and terrorism, the Sunnis lead the pack. ISIS, 9/11, 7/7, Madrid, Beslan, Bataclan, Nice, London sidewalk x 3, Berlin sidewalk, USS Cole, Fort Hood, the Pulse, San Bernadino, the Boston bombers, two airliners in Russia blown up the same day. The Russian airliner leaving the red sea resort in the Sinai. Bali bombings, Sri Lanka Bombings, Boko haram, Blackhawk down, Brussels airport, Charlie Hebdo, the Priest stabbed at the altar in France, the french train attack the passengers stopped, Ariana grande concert in England, beheading a British soldier in London, beheading a grandma in Oklahoma, the shoe bomber, the underwear bomber, etc etc..
and according to the VOA, 2106 new SAUDI FUNDED mosques built in America since 9/11.

All Sunni.

But they tell us Iran is the “leading sponsor” like some insane mantra.
