Thanks Mark. If drugs are especially bad over there, killing young people and tearing apart the society it is hard to blame those affected for wanting the strongest actions to combat it. Sometimes the greater good is all you can get out of a situation. I don’t want to be someone who looks in from outside without asking why and us it being effective? It’s good to hear the reality of the situation. Hope yo h are doing well bro!

Since I don’t go wandering around, doing investigations on the drug scene, I rely on the opinions of my wife, and my other Philippine friends. I have seen a few whacked out looking addicts around, but my friends tell me the Shabu problem is REALLY bad. It makes people do crazy and weird things, and the people have had enough. Again, relying on the opinions of my friends, they tell me, that the attitude of the people in the barrios, is that life is better now. Many have said the crystal meth problem had gotten so bad, they didn’t care how Duterte dealt with it, as long as he dealt with it. So, he’s dealing with it. When the head of the NBI is jailed for drugs, I would say he is dealing with it.
