Tlaib: When I Think About The Holocaust I Get A 'Warm Feeling'

Just when we think that Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) couldn't get any more anti-Semitic, she proves us wrong. Her latest remark is rather cringeworthy too. During an interview with Yahoo News' podcast "Skullduggery," she explained her take on the Holocaust.

"There’s always kind of a calming feeling, I tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people's passports," Tlaib said.

"And, just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. And, I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways, but they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them."

Republican leaders were quick to slam Tlaib's comments, and rightfully so.

"There is no justification for the twisted and disgusting comments made by Rashida Tlaib just days after the annual Day of Holocaust Remembrance. More than six million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust; there is nothing 'calming' about that fact," House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) said in a statement. "Unfortunately, this is far from the first display of heinous anti-Semitic comments coming from Democrat House members this year, and it’s clear this is now the norm for their caucus. It’s long past time for Speaker Pelosi to take swift action and make it clear that these vile comments have no place in Congress."

House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) called on Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) "to finally take action against Representative Tlaib and other members of the Democratic caucus who are spreading vile anti-Semitism."

"All of us, regardless of party, must stand as Americans against the evil of anti-Semitism," Cheney said. "If the Democratic leadership continues to stand by in silence, they are enabling the spread of evil. History teaches us that anti-Semitism begins with words and becomes something far worse. Speaker Pelosi and Leader Hoyer must act now."

I'm honestly not sure what's more disgusting: the fact that Tlaib made these comments or that Democrats have to tip toe around anti-Semitism instead of calling out and condemning those who threaten the Jewish people.

Democrats claim to be the party that stands up on behalf of minorities. They claim to represent women and minorities yet here they are, allowing multiple members of Congress to continually say things that hurt a minority group: Jews.

We, as a nation, need to take a long, hard look at ourselves and our beliefs when this type of hate speech is being protected. It was this kind of logic, this belief that one group of people are more superior than another, that got us into the Holocaust to begin with. It's a dangerous road to go down and one we should know better to toy with. Every anti-Semitic remark made is a new seed of racism and hatred that's being planted.

Palestinian. On what planet does a product that produces a word like “Pestinian” get to call itself auto-correct?

Does she smell sulphur when she gets that “warming feeling”?

If so, her master is calling for her.

Jordan’s name used to be “Trans-Jordanian Palestine”, so insofar as that is true they are “palestinians”. And most of them would have happy, quiet lives if they stopped listening to the Arab leadership. But that would involve ceasing to blame the Jooos for everything from plague, famine and drought to ring around the collar and the heartbreak of psoriasis.

Besides Liz Cheney, how many REPUBLICANS are taking action to get her to resign or deported or charged with a crime?

You mean the gang of fools who can’t think of a reason to prohibit immigration from Islamic countries? There’s not a chance that those cowards will boot Tlaib. If anyone does it it’s going to have to be her fellow Democrats because the GOP establishment is spineless. Or worse.

No. I hate typos. Misspellings, anyway. Tiny keyboard makes them inevitable, and the tiny screen makes proofreading a chore. Miss Tliab needs to go back to the Land O’ Pests, wherever the hell it is.

“Their largest funder , George Soros was a NAZl member during WW2”

Not exactly. He was a teenage Kapo. A concentration camp prisoner who was a collaborator.

I hate autocorrect. It takes what would be an understandable typo and completely changes it to something that makes no sense

My uncrowns a house that he leases here in town, but he lives in Germany. I know Palestine is a land, but it was never a nation that they seem to claim it was. It was originally renamed that from Judea by the Romans.

Evidently Tlaib's Palestinian/Muslim ancestors also had the same "warm feeling" when they though about the Holocaust.

I don't understand why the headline is "...I get a warm feeling" when that is not what she said. She said she got "kind of a calming feeling". Yes, there is a difference. She is misguided in her comments about Palestinians providing land and losing their passports but she said the Holocaust was horrific persecution.

She is as antisemitic as they come but I think we are misconstruing her words. Since I don't tolerate that when they do it to us, I don't think we should do it to them either.

If anything, the “Palestinians” took part in the Holocaust sector of the British Mandate by attacking Jews there, some as part of the Grand Mufti’s pro-Nazi armies (including 2 SS divisions in the old Yugoslavia/Serbia/Macedonia, Montenegro combined regions. Others were part of Arab raiders who slaughtered unarmed Jewish settlers (the slit throats and left no survivors).

Tlaib is now an open Nazi-sympathizer. She should be thrown out of Congress on just that alone, but we can pile on being a pro-Palestinian Fatah, Al Saqua, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad supporter just for more documentation.

She is, in her own way, sicker than Omar but more open about it. I wonder how many of her supporters in Detroit/Dearborn are just as fanatically anti-Semitic and pro-jihad as she is. Any poll taker in her district asking that question would be missing a head after about 5 minutes.

The cancer of anti-Semitism and jihadism is deep in too many places in the US (all Democrat controlled for many decades, esp. in Michigan, and now the Minneapolis region.

Time for a congressional committee to h old hearings on Jihadist penetration, support systems and operations in the US, including CAIR, ICNL, MAS, MSA and United Students for Palestine.

We need a Senate Internal Security Committee, like the old SISS, Sen. Judiciary Committee, since the Red/Crook rat controlled House will never reconstruct the very effective House Internal Security Committee. Might expose too many Democrats as red, racist, and Arabist traitors.
