Trump Is On The Verge Of Flipping The New York Appeals Court To Conservative Control....

The Senate confirmed Judge Joseph Bianco and Michael Park to the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on separate votes Wednesday and Thursday, putting President Donald Trump on the verge of flipping the panel to conservative control. The 2nd Circuit is the federal appeals court that covers Connecticut, New York, and Vermont. Given its jurisdiction over Manhattan, the 2nd Circuit has a large and important docket of corporate and securities law cases. Bianco and Park are Trump’s second and third appointees to that panel. If Trump fills the remaining two vacancies on the 2nd Circuit, Republican appointees will control the court.

Both men represent Republican determination to move judicial nominees into key posts at a steady pace.

**The Senate confirmed its 100th Trump judicial nominee on May 2.**

All of these gains will quickly be undone if Biden becomes President.

Important work being done, let’s keep it up for another 6 years minimum.

Well, he can make inroads on it, certainly. There still needs to be vacancies. He’ll have to fill them when they come up.

Hopefully Trump leaves with very few vacancies. That will slow ole’ Joe down considerably.

It’s becoming clear that if President Trump was previously not a strong conservative or Republican (as some have said) , or even a Dem, he’s going to be one from now on! Especially after the way he’s been treated by the Demonrats!

I Know they changed the hearings so two days rather than 30 days to consider....so that in itself is moving things right along..

I don’t think Trump limits what he wants for this country by party affiliation as he knows the swamp is on both sides of the bridge he walks....What he does do is keep moving forward in what he believes is right and that his voters put him in office for and to do.

Unfortunately George W. Bush and his father put many moderates on the court. Chief Justice Roberts has been a disappointment on several occasions. Certainly his father’s appointment of David Souter was a travesty. Many of the District and Appeals court judges appointed by both Bush presidents have supported liberal positions once on the bench. This goes to show that appointing moderates to appease Democrats is not a winning strategy.

Sadly once Trump is gone a President Pence, President Rubio, President Romney, President Jeb, or President Haley will almost certainly go back to appointing moderate to left of center jurists. No one in the establishment GOP relishes the fight. The are appeasers.

I really fear 2024. After 8 years of Trump who will the GOP run?

I hate to tell you but Trump has been treated just as badly by the back stabbing Washington RINOs.

Unfortunately George W. Bush and his father put many moderates on the court.

So true. They were always willing to allow Democrat Senators to effectively select judges in their district in order to get their "blue slip". Now those "Republican" appointed judges vote against the core issues we support. You can't measure the balance of the District Courts, or even the Supreme Court, by the party of the President who nominated the the judges. Unless Trump is reelected, his impact on the judiciary will be short lived.

I agree. It just rubbed me the wrong way it took over two years to do that.

Credit where credit is due. McConnell had a good bit to do with that.
