and so they pass an increase in late November 2020.
the long lived 27th Amendment.
The Twenty-seventh Amendment (Amendment XXVII) to the United States Constitution prohibits any law that increases or decreases the salary of members of Congress from taking effect until the start of the next set of terms of office for Representatives. The amendment is the most recent to be adopted, but one of the first proposed.

Current House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., said he knows representatives who are leaving Congress over the wage stagnation. Well...bye.

More loot could help Cortez score a new garbage disposal. The current one seems to be faulty.

Pay them five million a year and force them to personally fund their own campaigns. In the long run, we would all save money. :)

I believe that even Congress critters are worthy of their hire.
Pay them adequately but. ..
That does not mean that they should be exempted from the laws they write nor should they have special access to healthcare, and they certainly should not be financially rewarded for hanging onto office term after term.
Require them to apply all laws themselves, forbid them special healthcare, reduce their pensions and salaries by 5 % for every year they serve.

A raise? Most of ‘em should be fired, and some should be in the pokey.

Good grief. First they dont only get 175,000. They get additional money for every committee they are on and whatever else they can think of. Oh, and when they leave the committee, the pay does not go down. Its a racket.

If the Dems can somehow be rope-a-doped into voting for this it might play out in our favor.
