House panel votes to hold Barr in contempt

The House Judiciary Committee voted along party lines Wednesday to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress, escalating a growing feud between Democrats and the Trump administration over special counsel Robert Mueller's report.

In a 24-16 vote, Democrats made a formal recommendation that the House hold Barr in contempt for failing to comply with a congressional subpoena for Mueller's full un-redacted report and underlying documents.

It’s unclear when the contempt resolution will advance to the House floor for a full vote, though House leaders have expressed support for it.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) backed the contempt resolution during a Washington Post event earlier Wednesday, and said impeaching Barr is “not off the table.”

She also criticized the administration for actions that she has argued are meant to provoke Democrats into launching impeachment proceedings against the president.

"Every single day the president is making a case — he's becoming self-impeachable, in terms of some of the things he's doing," she said.

Democrats were angered on the eve of the contempt vote after Barr threatened to recommend that that President Trump exert executive privilege over the redacted information in Mueller’s report as well as the underlying evidence. The Justice Department followed through with the threat just before the markup began.

So, let me see if I have this right. The House wants to hold AG Barr in contempt because he is following a law that was passed by a democrat congress.

...???

She’s mentioning a jail in the basement, now saying Trump is self impeaching.

Clean out your muskets folks.

We may never make it to four peaceful years.

It is what it is.

They are doing this only because they fear that Barr is serious about taking a peek into the corrupt Obamas government actions against Trump and his campaign. He might blow it all up with what we suspect he will find and reveal to the public

The Democrats failure to have respect for the rule of law will impact everyone. Why should anyone follow the law?

Did the House Judiciary committee commit crime by trying to coerce the attorney general into committing a crime by releasing the grand jury testimony?

“In criminal law, incitement is the encouragement of another person to commit a crime. Depending on the jurisdiction, some or all types of incitement may be illegal. Where illegal, it is known as an inchoate offense, where harm is intended but may or may not have actually occurred.”
