The attempted Democratic takedown of Attorney General William Barr last week during his Senate Judiciary Committee appearance was a thing to behold. The gruff, direct, seemingly unflappable bear of an AG batted away each assault, question after question, hour after hour.
But a second impression also emerged: the tone deafness of so many Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats. Some seemed unaware of the full import of their questions and complaints.
Take Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut. He told Barr, "History will judge you harshly" as "your credibility is undermined" because "you in effect exonerated or cleared the president." To this, Barr replied, No, I didn't exonerate. Instead, he explained, he and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein did not believe that there was sufficient evidence to establish an obstruction offense, which is the job of the Justice Department. Blumenthal then accused the attorney general of not telling the truth, saying Barr left a clear impression about the president and its been repeated again and again.

Not reading anything by Karl Rove.
Thanks knighthawk.
Having watched about 90 minutes of clips from the Barr ‘visit’....one comes away with the opinion that he’s more legal-minded than the past dozen AG’s that held the job. One might also suspect that almost none of the people on the Senate side (at least with the Democrats) are qualified for law positions, and their chatter was worthless.
I might also suggest that Lindsey Graham knocked down several of the Democratic positions, and he’s been on a roll now for almost a year.
Maybe a dozen more McCains should go in the ground.
More than just "legal minded", he's clearly more intelligent than his predecessors. He is very well prepared, has a mastery of the subject of the hearing and is quick to shut down the "gotcha" questions when attacked. Nice change from Sessions.
Blumenthal: May we see those notes?
Barr: No.
What is a Karl Rove?
A Karl Rove is a Bush League Republican who has tirelessly worked for to advance the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA).
He’s pretending to be on our side, like Flimsey Grahamnesty, for his own aggrandizement.
