That was quick.
New Jerseys top state lawmaker told NJ Advance Media on Tuesday morning he remains staunchly against Gov. Phil Murphys proposal to raise taxes on millionaires in the Garden State, even though Murphy is now offering to put an additional $250 million in property tax relief to residents next year if lawmakers agree to the hike.

What are these “blue-collar conservative democrats” they speak of?
Blue collar conservative Democrats like Stephen Sweeney, Paul Sarlo, Craig Coughlin.
They represent blue collar New Jersey.
They are blue collar areas all over Jersey.
Blue collar conservative Democrats like Hillary, Biden, Corzine, McGreevey, etc.
They are a dying breed in the Democratic Party, they don’t trust the GOP because the GOP is too religious-oriented.
They’re economic Reagan-Scoop Jackson Democrats.
Their sons? 20-30 year olds? They’re Republicans or apolitical.
"Unexpected surge in tax collections"?
He must mean the tax refunds the state keeps finding excuses to hold onto.
[even though Murphy is now offering to put an additional $250 million in property tax relief to residents next year if lawmakers agree to the hike.]
This is the biggest bunch of bulls**t I heard coming from Murphy. I bet he can’t even say this with a straight face....
There’s no such thing as a “blue collar conservative democrat” in Jersey. Those folks all came from the South and they are like dinosaurs, now. They don’t exist.
What they probably are, are relatives or BFFs of fireman around the state and don’t want to see anything happen to any of their buddies or family members. As is typical of certain types in that region, they’ll complain all day, every day about taxes and the cost of living. But, their paychecks enable them to live a certain life. A paycheck and pension that are dependent on those very same high taxes that they complain about. So, they do their 20-30 years and then move to Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, or North Carolina and start ruining those states. Although, Florida is pretty much gone.
aka Masochists
No such thing as a conservative Communist.
The same thing in Staten Island, Brooklyn as well, I guess.
Both of them????
The Marxist-Leninist wing of the Demonrats as opposed to the Stalinist-Pol Potist wing.
LOL.
Yeah I guess “blue collar conservative democrats” who are definitely not conservative and probably not blue collar either is code for “any rational democrat who doesn’t want to destroy the state by increasing the already psychotic level of taxation”.
Stephen Sweeney: 2017 ACU - 7% (93% leftist); 2016 - 0% (100% leftist); lifetime - 1% (99% leftist)
Paul Sarlo: 2017 ACU - 0% (100% leftist); 2016 - 0% (100% leftist); lifetime - 0% (100% leftist)
Craig Coughlin: 2017 ACU - 7% (93% leftist); 2016 - 0% (100% leftist); lifetime - 1% (99% leftist)
If these are what passes for "Conservatives", what on earth must pass for "Moderates" or "Liberals" ?
Hey, Guava, my (retired in January) Black Democrat State Senator in Nashville, who was considered a liberal, scored a 53% Conservative rating in 2018 and a whopping 79% Conservative in 2017 (with a 51% lifetime Conservative rating). The "moonbat" who replaced her still got around a 30% Conservative rating in the TN House. Your NJ Republicans make our Black Dem members look like Jesse Helms. There are no words to describe how execrable your "Conservative" Stalinists look like.
Yoan Moncada.
Also, Sarlo is a construction executive and Coughlin is an attorney and former Judge. So that’s a White collar background for 2 of the 3.
Think GCP is trolling us ?
“...any rational democrat...”
That breed went extinct a long time ago.
There’s just varying degrees of psychotic over there now, ranging from mildly socialist to full-hard-on Nazi.
