AUSTIN, Tex. — As Trooper Brian Encinia angrily threatened her with a stun gun from just outside her car window, Sandra Bland recorded the encounter on her cellphone, shown in a newly released 39-second video that has prompted Ms. Bland’s family to call for a renewed investigation into her arrest and death nearly four years ago.

Texas, where you don’t want to get involved with any Imperial entanglements, or the Empire’s stormtroopers...
He'd stopped another one just prior to bird-dogging Sandra Bland.
Maybe Sandra was trollin’ for police to stop her by running stop signs right in front of them.
The Texas state trooper was looking for college honeys.
Take few minutes and watch LivePD. The stuff that people do when they encounter a LEO is amazingly stupid.
This kind of behavior is why I avoid Texas. There are “little Wacos” all over the state with LEOs who have little regard for the laws they are supposed to enforce. I’m just waiting for the “Big Biker Payday in Whacko” when some of the Federal Civil Rights lawsuits take huge bites out of the wallets of the “Good Citizens of Whacko!” And I truly hope that some day, the murderous cops that did most of the killing at Twin Peaks that day are incarcerated for the rest of their lives.
I’m curious, but avoid the NYT.

Back ion the 70’s I was a Texas cop. Surest way to get a ticket was to be a cutie.
If you made a stop and were going to just issue a warning, as soon as you saw the driver was a cutie the warning was replaced by a ticket.
Why?
Because of the possible allegation that you only stopped her because she was a cutie and if she really committed the infraction, then she would have received a ticket.
That was policy in my department.
Four years after we saw an edited video from the state stormtroopers, the state of Texas pukes up this hairball.

Yeah. . .I am crying real tears over the deaths of criminal, violent, cowardly and filthy outlaw motorcyclists.
In every workplace, there are professionals, and there are those who think with their glands... :-)
She was an idiot, looking for trouble.
The dipstick state trooper took the dashcam video himself, and was later fired after a perjury charge:
Justice is blind so I don’t care about your prejudices.
For your own safety, just be polite even if the officer is an ass.
