Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) wrongly referred to Gaza as “occupied” in a tweet supporting Palestinian terrorists against Israel on Sunday, as hundreds of rockets were fired at Israeli civilian population centers, killing four Israelis.
Omar, who supports the anti-Israel “boycott, divestment, sanctions” (BDS) movement, and who has a long history of antisemitic rhetoric relating to the issue, weighed in on the conflict Sunday, calling it a “cycle of violence” but clearly blaming Israel:

The “protesters” to which Omar refers were shot at because they were trying to breach the border fence and were using incendiary devices, among other weapons. In the past, such “protests” were organized by the Hamas terror organization — which violently suppresses protests against its own brutal regime in Gaza, according to the UN.
Among Omar’s many dubious claims in a single tweet, one false claim stands out: namely, that Gaza faces a “status quo of occupation.” In 2005, Israel unilaterally removed every Israeli soldier and civilian from Gaza, ending any possible “occupation” of the territory — against much domestic political opposition within Israel itself. The hope was that Palestinians would use the withdrawal as an opportunity to invest in Gaza’s economy and work towards peace.

Ilhan Omar was not wrong at all. The squatters that sit on the land in Gaza are poor desolate homeless people whose parents and grandparents were kicked out of the land of their nativity (Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan) because they were too violent or revolutionary for even other Muslims. They have nursed their grievances for the better part of a century or more, and only that bilious nature prevents them from ever becoming good citizens of ANYWHERE.
Move them all to Antarctica, where they may start over clean. And with nobody but the penguins to contest them for the land.
It’s quite clear she meant the entirety of Israel being occupied by those ‘zionists’ thus depriving those poor palestinians from peaceful existence.
That was no mistake. “The Occupation” is their term for the existence of Israel.

It’s like having people from outer space arrive and you realize that they are 10 times stupider than you are. But you have to tolerate them because you know they are from outer space. The only thing we can hope is if representative Omar has children and she gives them all iPhones. Once her children have iPhones they will even stop listening to her.
