Presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg did his best Friday night to ignore a small but vocal group of protesters who yelled anti-gay slurs and told him to "repent" during a speech in Dallas, Texas.
Buttigieg, the openly gay mayor of South Bend, Indiana, was speaking at an event for the Dallas County Democratic Party when he was interrupted several times by a handful of protesters who hurled, among other anti-gay remarks, "marriage is between a man and a woman" and "what about the babies?" Part of the interruption was caught on video by CNN reporter DJ Judd.
Rather than confront the protesters directly, Buttigieg — who served overseas with the U.S. Navy Reserve — joked that it was a "lively room" and recalled shipping out to Afghanistan with the Navy to defend the country's values, including freedom of speech. The crowd of supporters eventually drowned out the protesters with supportive cheers.
The fracas was also quickly denounced by former Texas Rep. Beto O'Rourke, who is running against Buttigieg for a spot on the Democratic ticket.

Realize if it wasn’t for the Students and Faculty of Notre Dame University, that Buttcrack would never have been mayor of South Bend, and thus in the position he’s in right now.
Like it said, the wrong Notre Dame burned.
People don’t like homosexuality. We dont tolerate the conduct and perversion.(The homo is a person who needs help) We need to stand up on this as it is in God’s word that the conduct is an “abomination” to God. We don’t want him around or to be seen by our children or grand children because he is mentally ill.
“Marriage is between a man and a woman” is not an anti-gay slur. It is the other side of the discussion. It is a position. I also think it’s true. Marriage is joining together into a new whole. You can’t join together that which doesn’t join
Only for a while before it becomes a crime.
If Pete Buttigieg wanted the Democratic electorate to know that he’s an unabashedly gay married man, he would have, from the beginning of his campaign, acted gay, dressed in gay apparel, and shown open affection toward his male spouse. But he hasn’t done any of those things.
So far, he’s only wanted wealthy gay supporters of the LGBT movement to know his proclivities so that he could amass enough of their contributions to be taken seriously by the gay-supporting media. Mission accomplished. But now what?
As the vast number of Christian and traditional-minded Democrats, who do not want a homosexual leading their party, learn about Mayor Pete’s homosexuality, they will oppose his presidential candidacy. Just as those Democrats who do not want a Socialist leading their party will oppose Bernie Sanders.
However, Bernie will not have to deal with an MSM constantly exposing his Socialism and attacking his anti-Socialist opponents, whereas, Mayor Pete is likely to be destroyed by the MSM’s continual exposure of his homosexuality in the face of opposition from traditional-minded Democrats.
They say the Navy’s finest hour was on the coasts of Afghanistan.
Beto’s wife is heiress to a near billionaire fortune. She can bankroll their political ego gratification ventures. He’s not leaving that!
Who needs policy if I can just play victim ...
There you go, that’s the real question.
Maybe buttplug should henceforth be referred to as “Jussie Buttigieg.”
He already HAS invented them. Look how he takes something as "duh" as "marriage is between a man and a woman" and spins it into an attack on gays. He can get limitless free rides just by punching his victim card.
Look at how he is attempting to target, scapegoat and freeze Pence as a personal symbol of bigotry, when Pence has been the soul of civility and cooperation at all times.
Buttigieg will know how to pay all the angles to his advantage.

True. Whether the hecklers are actors or sincere, they are speaking the truth regarding Mayor Pete.
Were they real protesters or were they put up to it by Buttigieg? My impression is that Buttigieg is a phony, so I would not be surprised if he put them up to it.
