Trump warns Mexico over guns drawn on US troops: ‘Better not happen again!’

President Trump on Wednesday warned Mexico after their soldiers reportedly drew guns on U.S. troops at the border last week, while also calling on America's southern neighbor to do more to halt another north-bound migrant caravan.

“Mexico’s Soldiers recently pulled guns on our National Guard Soldiers, probably as a diversionary tactic for drug smugglers on the Border. Better not happen again! We are now sending ARMED SOLDIERS to the Border. Mexico is not doing nearly enough in apprehending & returning!” he tweeted.

The president’s tweets come after several Mexican military personnel reportedly questioned U.S Army soldiers who were on patrol duty near the border in Texas. Mexican soldiers reportedly pointed their weapons at U.S. troops during the encounter. The Mexican soldiers reportedly believed that the U.S. Army soldiers were on Mexican territory.

the river is apparently NOT the border -- likely because of a course change since the border was drawn.

True.

There is land, north of the Ohio river, that is Kentucky.

Freedom Park, Junction City, Kansas, overlooking Fort Riley

I've read this this is off limits for now. Perhaps because of the bluff it is on overlooks Ft. Riley.

cartels don’t have known marked bases

Maybe not marked; but you can be SURE we know where they are!

About 60% of our armed forces are National Guard both Army and Air. They are held to the same standards and are trained similarly. You insult a great many with your disparagement of “NG, not military”. Our ArNG and ANG get some old equipment, but are also issued the latest equipment. I speak from my 30+ years in the Air National Guard. You are misinformed.

The National Guard has been guarding your butt since 1635. They are soldiers and airmen and have special status that the regulars don’t have. Posse Comitatus doesn’t apply to the NG on state duty. Regulars are not allowed police powers in the CONUS. The Guard is not restricted by that Civil War Reconstruction era law when activated by their governors. My understanding is that the Guard are acting under state orders and are not federalized for this mission. Yet.

Never slurred the Guard...spent 24 years in uniform and another 15 working with those in uniform...pointed out they were NG and that it would not make sense to become suicidal because of another’s comment...the other and I misunderstood each other as bad as you obviously misunderstood me.

I still don't understand why this happened. I heard and read reports about the boat losing power and drifting into Iranian waters. I also read that it strayed into what Iran claims as their waters while under power and they were surrounded by Iranian boats.

Anyone really know what happened? As you can see by their fatigues and haircuts, they were obviously trained for close combat and not your typical Boatswains Mates. Were they even from a ship or a shore installation? I've Googled, but get conflicting reports.
