One suspects that they will magically find some below-the-radar funding sources (Soros, perhaps? Clintons, maybe?) and will relish the spoiler roll until they learn that nobody (NOBODY) will ever, ever like or trust them, thereafter.
Arlen Specter was universally disliked at the end. The late John McCain now earns inverse respect. Weld, Romney, Kasich, and Hogan are viewed as little different from Cindy Sheehan and Carlos Danger.

Any who do will probably find little support and a lack of money. Thus, there might be a couple or 3 hangers-on, like Kasich in 2016 and Santorum in 2012.
They might garner 2 or 3 Electoral votes, but will be otherwise insignificant.
Of course, the media will give them superstar coverage.

That place used to be my daily. I don’t even click on that site by accident anymore. I’ve asked Ed numerous times to fire Analpundit but he refuses even though their readership has cratered in recent years on account of him.
Hogan should run for the senate when his governorship ends in 2022. He doesn’t have the balls to tun against the incumbent Van Hollen(?) Therefore he’s just in it for himself like the rest of them.

They’re all token opposition, appetizers for President Trump before he gets to the main course.
I can help a bit here. First, of course, is that Trump could drop dead tomorrow of a heart attack, second is that ‘The Resistance’ might be able to reach Trump [taking him out, by some means, gun, food poisoning, etc.].
But most of all, they figure they can help the Democrats by drowning out Trump’s supporters on airwaves, as they media will use the excuse that they’re running, to put them FRONT AND CENTER in our living rooms - and, for example, exclude Trump supporters who are much more important, such as Congressional leaders.
Like it or not, there are some VERY SICK REPUBLICANS in high positions...but hopefully they somehow get laughed out of town.
He writes on a lot of topics, but why does he hide behind that name? A number of people have noted that.
All they’re trying to do is peel off enough votes to damage Trump. Most likely those voters wouldn’t have voted for him anyway. I hope.
