Excerpt not allowed from Quartz, story here.
Civil rights laws were written when the primary concern was discrimination against blacks and women, but their language bars discrimination against all races and both sexes. Corporate America needs to be reminded of that!
I didn’t read the article, but based on my neck of the woods, I’d be guessing the value of diversity with the huge influx of cheap Indian workers.
100 years from now maybe things will be different, but for now,
society, like the media with regards to Trump and conservatives, keeps plunging into the abyss.
great find
Sounds like a good reason to increase R&D spending on Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE).
If I was a business owner or an executive in today’s political environment, Job One every day would be: “How do I reduce my employee headcount!”
Fewer employees - fewer lawsuits.
I worked for HP for to many years and the technical part of the business was its heart ,soul and future. Women never entered that area except for Carly Fiorina and we how badly that went down. Fast forward to last week I had a tech problem with an Apple product. Woman technician was assigned to my problem and I worked with her for over 20 minutes with zero progress. Finally in frustration I demanded a male tech she became very irritated but agreed. He resolved the problem in under 5 minutes. Matter of fact two minutes were spent on intro. Just Sayin
Thanks for posting.
I was not familiar with “Quartz” before seeing several linked articles at Free Republic.
I’m going to start reading it.
Yeah, right - except in the case of white males who are not homosexuals.
Another Microsoft staff member, who leads the team that helps the board of directors determine executive pay, explained the diversity-based compensation initiative. Our board and executive leadership team believe diverse and inclusive teams are good for business and consistent with our mission and inspire-to culture, she wrote. Linking compensation to these aspirations is an important demonstration of executive commitment to something we believe strongly in.
That reads like every "diversity" seminar or company policy I have seen. Full of flowery language and double-talk that attempts to mask outright discrimination and punitive punishment of white males in their own workforce.
Companies put out propaganda with photos like this on a slide, and then have Diversity Preachers come into meetings to bash white males in front of other employees.
Here's another dirty little secret. The "Civil Rights Act" was a disaster for this nation, because it destroyed the bed rock notion that we are all Equal Before the Law.
Once "civil rights" laws were passed, every group and "lifestyle" wanted in. Today, homosexuals, trannies, perverts, cross dressers, bull dykes, and pedophiles claim "civil rights", and are using the "gay marriage" Supreme Court case to outlaw Christianity.
The complaint was about discrimination against white AND ASIAN males. I’m guessing some H1Bs are unhappy.
You don’t question that where I work or you will be out the door.
Seems to be a problem in search of a class action lawyer.
When virtue signaling is more important that skill and ability, the bottom line takes a hit.
>>I have an ever-increasing file of white male Microsoft employees who have faced outright and overt discrimination because they had the misfortune of being born both white and male. This is unacceptable,
Ageism too no doubt. Discrmination against 20 year experienced males who’ve had to “make way” for cheap labor.
Wow. I’m stealing that Sowell piece.
They should fight against yet another ‘big lie’ that diversity uber alles is required. It is not.

‘The “Civil Rights Act” was a disaster for this nation, because it destroyed the bed rock notion that we are all Equal Before the Law.’
Dr. Sowell has a lot to say in that area too. For starters, his name would have been ‘Inmate Sowell’, if he had grown up after ‘civil rights’, as he was raised in Harlem in a day when blacks had no choice but to stay put there. Funny thing happened, though - they were a thriving community, as blacks had no choice but to use the local black businesses and successful blacks still had to live there, and with that, they didn’t any crap, at all, from the ‘youths’.
Then it all changed - the moment blacks were given full access to the US, the successful ones bolted for the white neighborhoods and we have what we have today...
“Diversity” in the workplace is similar to the affordable housing debate currently going on in NJ; the bankrupt urban sh!tholes are trying to farm out their unproductives to suburbs with taxpayers who will foot the bill to provide schooling and emergency services for them - reminiscent of the Quartering Act prior to the American Revolution (by which colonists had to provide room and board for British soldiers). The workplace issue is just to force companies to transfer wealth to targeted preferred minorities to pick up their maintenance costs; if they were worth it, they’d be hired already.
Forgive me for saying this, but that probably starts with hiring more white or NORTHEAST Asian males who do the work of multiple diversity hires.
At GE Appliances (a Chinese owned company), HR recently made the decision to stop recruiting certain schools such as the University of Dayton. Was it because recruiting is expensive and they weren’t getting much bang for their buck from UD? Nope. Dayton has provided a very consistent stream of employees over the years that have made a career at GEA. The reason is because the hires from UD don’t align with the “diversity profile” goals for recruitment!
