MELBOURNE, Fla. – A SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule suffered an anomaly Saturday afternoon during a routine engine test firing at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station , company and 45th Space Wing officials confirmed.

"On April 20, 2019, an anomaly occurred at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station during the Dragon 2 static test fire," wing spokesman Jim Williams told Florida Today. "The anomaly was contained and there were no injuries." Florida Today photographer Craig Bailey, who was covering an event in nearby Cocoa Beach, captured an image of orange plumes rising from SpaceX facilities at the cape at around 3:30 p.m.

It has nothing to do with NASA, this is SpaceX. And SpaceX is flat out amazing, they have far passed NASA. Thank God, because NASA is a joke since the early 70s.

Anomaly ... Sounds of “Star Trek”.

Kids talking about Star Trek: "How come there are no muslims in "Star Trek"?

"Because they all blowed up on the pad during the 21st century. Anomaly solved with the Universal Ban."

(No, not the joke you expected...)

Rumors say there is nothing left of the capsule except for the nosecone. This is the same capsule that went to the space station a bit more than a month ago. The engines on the capsule were being tested before a launch in June that would have tested an abort.

NASA had its share of failures in the 60’s. One fatally.

NASAs “anomaly,” was Apollo 1, that fire killed three men. Sending objects into space is technically demanding and technologically complex. The wonder is not that there are accidents, but that there are so few accidents.
