Chris Cillizza's column at the CNN website is called "The Point" but it takes him many many words and paragraphs to finally get to The Point buried deep in his verbose musings about the Mueller Report. If you can actually make it to that Point, you would be surprised to find out that Cillizza, in stark contrast with most of his CNN colleagues as well as the rest of the mainstream media, sees the Mueller report as good news for Donald Trump.
Before we get to his conclusion that threatens to turn the dome of his boss, Jeffrey Zucker, an even brighter shade of red, let us wade through some his observations before we discover his Trump happy conclusion in "10 takeaways from the Mueller report release -- and what happens next." Most of it won't disappoint a CNN fan. But then there's this.

Cillizza sites this from the report:
“Although the investigation established that the Russian government perceived it would benefit from a Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome and that the Campaign expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts, the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.”
Has anyone seen any real PROOF that the Russians stole and released anything? The FBI didn’t examine the supposedly “hacked” DNC servers. Plus, is there any explanation why the Russians would prefer Trump to Clinton? It is Clinton who helped them get control of 20 percent of our uranium. It was the Clinton Foundation that received $145 MILLION in Russian “donations”, it was Bill Clinton who received $500,000 for a one-hour speech in Moscow. That doesn’t sound like they preferred Trump to Clinton.
It looks to me that the report is just a rehash of democrat talking points sewen together by the 12 angry democrats on Mueller’s team.
Ditto
I trust that Chris made sure his resume was in order before making that observation!
exactly right, Mueller had 2 years & an army of investigators to dig up the truth...it’s obvious they spent all of it trying to support the original lies spun by the democrat political hacks supporting Hillary.
Good point! Republicans keep conceding the idea that the Russians did anything at all. There is zero proof that they “hacked” anything or interfered with anything.
And for America
And for all honest, benevolent people
And for the world!
I agree with the Russians doing anything at all, but that kind of went down the tubes when Barr confirmed that they did try to influence the election, which still keeps open that Trump was not legitimately elected. Remember all people suspect others of doing the same crimes and misdeeds that they themselves do, which is why it is so easy and in fact they dogmatically believe cheating was involved in T’s election because they have always done it themselves. Loved Barr summary, but confirming the Russians did anything leaves a big hole dems to pursue.
A surprising article by a partisan, BUT I disagree with the conclusion that the next stage is that Congress will take up Obstruction.
Sorry, Chris. The worm turns. The next stage is that the FISA documents will be released, and from there are all hell is going to break loose, with a scorched earth accounting of all these bastards who tried to take the president down.
All of them....
Maybe, Chris realizes this, and is trying to act like one of the good guys.
The thing about Russia attempting to influence our election is nothing new. Theyve been doing it forever.Weve been doing the same, to Russia and to other countries. Wanting to persuade people to act or vote one way or another is just human behavior.
how they know is one of the redacted parts, yknow. maybe the good guys will concede it so the baf hat hackers around the world think we really do capture every network packet and pay attention to such things. and find patterns. sorry world, the amount of cyber chaff is too much to save for later. unless we are already looking for patterns for specific targeted enpoints. why would we need fisas and taps otherwise. so we let them crow but got what we wanted. let them forget how hard trump campaigned, took nothing for granted, and especially how corrupt the rats are. that won’t change and voters hate that and phoney inauthenticity than anything i politcs. our president is authentic.
