Nonsense. Sanders has benefited from basically going unchallenged and getting a free pass in the 2016 Democratic primary debates. He has a debate tactic of not answering direct questions, then quickly changing the subject and deflecting, with his Democratic opponents allowed him to get away with it. In a head to head matchup with Trump he’ll be challenged and won’t get away with that. A Presidential campaign is a whole new ball game.
Bernie coulda had class. He coulda been a contender. He coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what he is, let’s face it.

Amen to that. Based on Rove's statement, I am now fully persuaded that Trump will win reelection.
This makes more sense if you read it as Rove saying that Bernie is one of the stronger Democrat candidates. Strange as it may seem, he is. Does that mean he can beat Trump? He has a better chance of doing so than many of the others. Maybe than all the others - since Bernie has more energy than Biden. In that sense, he’s more real a contender than Gillibrand or Klobuchar or Hickenlooper or the thousand other candidates.

Bernie likes to blame “rich” people so do many others.
In 2016 I think he could have beaten Trump. He could have tapped into the same vein of resentment that Trump did. Would Bernie’s share had been bigger Don’t know! But people do like free stuff particularly when you don’t ask them to think about how it got there & where it came from!
