St. Albans is in Franklin County - very conservative area. They had a re-enactment of the raid on the 150th anniversary that was very well done.

I have been trying for years to get my parents to leave Vermont. Maybe this would do it.
I sure wish the people of Vermont would vote responsibly.
We have a large influx of Northerners in our southern city. They are really nice people, but they are mostly liberal. They read NYT, Compost, watch PBS etc. They are moving here in retirement and turning us blue!

My parents are very conservative. The state just gets more and more liberal. They are not young and would have a hard time uprooting themselves. Anywhere they would go, they would bring their conservative values.
