Vermont's politicians like to stand out nationally. Republican Governor Scott led Vermont's effort to prohibit its police from supplying identifying information, particularly "immigration status," to federal authorities. Bernie Sanders's 2020 platform consists almost entirely of anti-Trump sputtering. Patrick Leahy recently invoked Watergate to challenge President Trump to release the Mueller Report — an awkward splash, since it appears that the Obama FBI was spying on the Trump political campaign in Watergate-on-steroids style.
Then there's Burlington, Vermont mayor Miro Weinberger, who strives for Ocasio-Cortez-like stardom. The mayor has challenged the president to transport unlimited numbers of detainees to the Green Mountain State, saying, "The city will welcome the refugees with open arms if Trump follows through on the 'threat.'"
Unlike some NIMBY sanctuary city leaders who complain that burdening them with detainees is "payback," Mayor Weinberger has openly invited the feds to deliver the human goods. The goods must be delivered before the mayor retracts his offer!
But Mayor Miro has a huge problem — rampant homelessness and related deterioration in his sanctuary city, Burlington. Nationally, there were an estimated 552,830 homeless in 2018. California and New York have by far the largest number of homeless people. But in Vermont, Burlington saw a 19% increase in homeless people in 2018 over 2017, from 291 to 359, even as "[t]he overall numbers of homeless individuals across the state decreased by two, from 934 to 932[.]"
New York City, which has vociferously declared itself a sanctuary city, is burdened by some 79,000 homeless people, mostly sheltered. Los Angeles struggles with some 50,000 (largely unsheltered) homeless and is addressing problems with rats and fecal matter on sidewalks, where fleas are spreading typhus and hepatitis.

Last year, I got stopped at an immigration roadblock on I-93 in New Hampshire up in the White mountains.
Yep, ship all the south of the border illegal entries upnear the northern border.
I have been up there a bunch of times. I have had some good times, but the last several times I went up, the Leftism became even too much for me, coming from a very blue state, that is saying a lot.
There are some conservatives up there, but...the show is being run by Birkenstock wearing, man-bun sporting hipster dipsticks.
My wife and I stayed at a farm/B&B up there, and the woman running the farm had a large solar array, so when I asked her about it, that set her off and I realized she was a conservative! She talked about the idiocy of their Energy policy, and how they cut off the energy branch they were sitting on by getting rid of energy sources before anything came in to replace them, and how to cover the shortfall by purchasing electric power from Canada. Then she grinned, and said that the leftists had their heads popping off because they were purchasing some nuclear generated power to cover the shortfall! (I don’t know how, but she seemed to think that was the case, and was kind of funny to consider!)
Then, last year we went way up to take a tour of the Cabot Cheese Factory which they stopped doing tours because of state regulations on how they had to isolate their food production from the tours and they couldn’t do it...so we couldn’t take a tour and ended up having lunch at this little five table eating place in the back of a hardware store run by this woman, and we were the only ones there...we began talking and found out SHE was a conservative, and would likely have been boiled in oil had her neighbors heard our conversation! (we sat and talked with her for about an hour, and she really enjoyed talking to people who weren’t liberals...:)

Like many places, it is a horrible place to just show up with no money and little prospects.

I think that busing these wetbacks up to Burlington would be a win-win situations.The wetbacks would enjoy the climate (and the hospitality) and the natives would know that they're doing their duty as "world citizens".
I have been trying for years to get my parents to leave Vermont. Maybe this would do it.
Just thinking that the entire population of Burlington is less than 50K, I think, this could be an interesting experiment in welcoming invaders. Not a fun experiment but certainly interesting.
I imagine the little town I grew up in, formerly relatively conservative, now batsh*t crazy liberal, would welcome the hordes of illegals in with open arms. I really wish my folks would just sell their house and move here. We may not be perfect but we don’t claim Bernie. lol
Although the usage may be considered archaic, I believe the plural of “beaver” is “beaver”. But who wants to split hairs?
