The loss is seen by the vast majority of Europeans and westerners in general as a loss of a historic building not of a holy place.

If anything this fire is symbolic of the fall of Christianity. They:re already talking about rebuilding it as a more “inclusive” place.

It depends on what part of Europe it is. The western side is problematic. The eastern side, not so much.

The culture that built Notre Dame is the same culture that fought to keep Muslims out of Europe. The culture that let Notre Dame burn on its watch due to poor maintenance is the same culture that’s now allowing itself to be overrun by Arabs and Africans. Hardly a coincidence.

Christianity seems to be in decline around the world, but those who do remain are highly resolved and have many resources. And they can be united for a cause because they already have shared values.
