There has never been a reason since Reagan for any non-Democrat to go to those things.
I never understood why someone would go to be subjected to mean spirited abuse disguised as humor, directed only at non-Democrats.

I suspect that that faction nixed the comedian because of the understanding that all comedy is ostensibly offensive to someone. Comedians on TV have become totally offensive even as the comedy has disappeared from the genre.

It seems that with some of our previous presidents, they were more concerned with ingratiating themselves to the media in exchange for fawning press coverage than doing their job for the American people.
Obama, Clinton, even the Bushes to some extent were willing to grovel to the media, thus further inflating their already overinflated egos and self-importance.
Trump put them right back in their place.
Hopefully, this is the end of this self-preening, tasteless abomination staged by the usual nitwits and liars.
