The relevant fact is that the GOP gets huge sums of money from the fossil fuel companies, and that will be declining over the next 30 years.

Ten years ago the big fossil fuel brothers spent a large sum of money to successfully unelect republican Bob Inglis.

More recently the fossil fuel brothers unsuccessfully spent a lot of money trying to shut down the republicans in western Kansas.

But the profits in fossil fuels are large and it makes sense to spend large sums to try to delay the inevitable

The world won't stop because you die. Nor will the transition away from fossil fuel stop because you die.

It is very likely that your death will hasten the transition.

Nobody can predict exactly the time frame. Republicans, like Massie who gets substantial sums from Marathon Petroleum, will try to delay it, but he can't stop it. Neither can Trump.
