One of the GOP senators from Kris Kobachs home state said Tuesday that the Senate would not be able to confirm the Kansas Republican if President Donald Trump tapped him for a cabinet post.
Kobach, the former Kansas secretary of state, has been mentioned as a potential candidate for an array of immigration-related positions after President Donald Trump pulled his nominee for the director of Immigration Customs Enforcement and announced the departure of his secretary of Homeland Security.
But Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kansas, doesnt believe the Republican-controlled Senate could confirm his fellow Kansan, who has gained national notoriety for championing stronger restrictions on immigration.
Dont go there. We cant confirm him, Roberts whispered to The Kansas City Star when asked about Kobach Tuesday on his way into a Senate vote.
I never said that to you, Roberts added despite the fact that another reporter was present and The Star had not agreed to an off record conversation.

Go to wikipedia and spend one minute reading Kobach’s bio. He must have a genius-level IQ and is perfectly suited for DHS.
He’s just not politically correct.
FU Roberts.
Someone like Kobach is exactly what we need.
Kobach to put the kiboch on the chaos?
“Never go Full Retard”
Kobach to put the kiboSH on the chaos?
Dang autocorrect.
Go home and stay you old fart!!!
Good old worthless Pat Roberts, not a peep from him until it’s time to slow Conservatism.
All writers left on the (Red) Star, loathe and despise any and every conservative. Tuck in that, if you are Pro-Life, Pro Traditional Marriage, Pro-closing the open border, you are a racist, a white supremacist, bigoted hate monger, dangerous to be allowed any freedom at all!
Worst of all, Sen. Pat Roberts hasnt actually lived in Kansas since being elected to Congress, ever!
Trump should announce that if his nominee is rejected by Kansas that he will settle all incoming “refugees” in Robert’s district...
WHY do we have to keep fighting A$$CLOWNS on our OWN FRICKIN’ SIDE??!!!
I swear it’s like playing Wack a Mole. One gets clobbered by opening his/her blow hole to shower us with bile, and here comes another one.
HEY MOBYS! SHUT YER BLOWHOLES
“We cant confirm him,”
But we have, in the past, confirmed Comey, Clapper & Brennan.
Term limits in congress is long past due! All RINO’s must go!
Remember when Ted Cruise states on Rushs show, good old lyin RINO Mitch McConnell, looked squarely into everyones face and lied to them - THREE times!
We can’t confirm him because we are Bush League Republicans hell bent on turning the USA into North Mexico.
FUPR
When it isn’t the Stupid Party it’s the Gutless Party.
Hmm...well...this is probably true. I can see at least 4 GOP Senators jumping ship with Collins, Murkowski, and Romney against by default - Dems would be unanimous against whoever is nominated.
For optics (and yes, they do indeed matter, folks, despite the fact they shouldn’t) - I hope the President can find a staunch border security advocate that is Latino, with an obvious thick, natural Latino accent that is a legal immigrant with competent leadership skills to take over the job and hit the ground running. These people do exist - it appears possibly a majority of those Border Patrol agents are Latino when President Trump goes to the border to meet with them. That would given Collins and company cover to vote in favor and I would love to see how the Democrats and the media try to deal with their prepared talking points for whoever Trump nominates to portray that person as a “White Supremacist.” These talking points are already written with a blank spot to insert the name - make them fall flat on their faces.
There you go - that’s where you put Kobach. A czar.
