The threat of tariffs is not credible...in fact it transmits that the U.S. is afraid (for it’s economy) to close the border. If closing the border is too damaging to the economy to be considered, how are tariffs then a credible threat? They harm the economy too. In fact, it is essentially the same harm one way or the other.
Trump is being duplicitous here...or trying to extricate himself from a situation of his own making. The damage here amongst his base is significant.
But the worst of it is that our policy on the border and on immigration/migration is being established by Mexico City. We are more fearful of economic impact than they are. Our fear renders us impotent in the face of their stronger will. Are we really just a colony of Mexico? They set the policy and we are not strong enough to challenge it. Who is the strong one and who is the weak one here.
This is by far the most destructive action taken during the Trump presidency. The ramifications may reverberate around the world...and certainly the Deep State and George Soros are energized by this.
Trump got elected for one reason, and one reason only. Illegal immigration. He has done nothing about it except bloviate, vacillate and surrender. An Eisenhower was needed for the job. Quiet. No telegraphing, efficient.
A year.
Plenty of time for the enemy to weaponize Fentanyl and plan and execute an attack on a large American city.

Towns and communities in multiple states are being overrun with illegal aliens and they are MAXED OUT in resources.
It does NOT take Mexico an entire year to close its southern border.

There have been more than a few on other threads. It’s some combination of:
1. Trump knows more than we do. Secret stuff.
2. Trump is planning a surprise attack. Any day now.
3. Be patient. Wait just one more year.
