President Trump on Tuesday incorrectly said his father was from Germany while expressing frustration about the countrys payments toward NATO.
"Germany, honestly, is not paying their fair share," Trump said at the White House before noting that he has "great respect" for German Chancellor Angela Merkel and "great respect for the country."
"My father is German, was German," he continued. "Born in a very wonderful place in Germany, so I have a great feeling for Germany."
The Washington Post said it as least the third time Trump has made this particular claim about his father, Fred Trump, who was born in New York City in 1905.
Trumps grandfather, Friedrich Trump, was born in Germany and emigrated to the U.S. in 1885, according to a report from the Post in 2016.
After finding success in the U.S., Friedrich Trump attempted to resettle in Germany, according to The Associated Press. But the Post added that he was expelled in 1905, apparently for emigrating illegally. He returned with his wife to the U.S. when she was pregnant with Fred Trump.
Trump made the claims about his father multiple times in 2018 while discussing relations between the U.S. and European countries.
"Dont forget both of my parents were born in EU sectors, OK?" Trump said in an interview last July. "My mother was Scotland. My father was Germany."
Trump's mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, was born in Scotland.
The Post noted that Trump also mentioned his father being from Germany while attending the NATO summit in Brussels.
"I have great respect for Germany; my father is from Germany," Trump said. "Both of my parents are from the EU, despite the fact they dont treat us well on trade."
So many nothing burgers form the media that I’m now hungry for a burger.

If the MSM called out Obama on all his “misspeaks”, they would have had no time for real news.
It seemed a tad late for the party.
lol...my wife describes her dad and mom as german all the time. They are purebred. Both their parents were born in Germany but they were born here. Y
Over the last 500 years or so, if you scratch a Scotsman, Irishman, Englishman or Dutchman, you’ll find an American trying to get out. Even some Spaniards and Portuguese and a Frenchman or two. And more recently, German and Italian. And of course Mexican and even more recently, Central Americans. Without going in to a lot of detailed listing, I’d say there are people from every continent and country that envy America, the freest, wealthiest, most powerful country on earth. Some might even say the greatest country on earth, despite the wailing and gnashing of teeth by the God-hating, America-hating left and their professional permanent victim class.
I think “Catside Story”
I saw the CNN morons giggling and carrying on this morning about this. They were so insulting with their behavior that I felt ashamed for them. To think that CNN is shown all over the US, in airports all over, and they have to see these totally unpatriotic clowns laughing and giggling over something as small and inconsequential as this.
Don’t remember their similar behavior over Valerie Jarrett’s hand puppet Obozo when he commented on our 57 states.
I got a laugh from that picture in post 27 where Bibi’s finger shadow makes a Hitler mustache on Merkel’s face. LOL.
Not to mention who his father actually is...
We knew aoc was going to bring down the hammer.
My favorite Obamaism was his mention of the "transcontinental railroad." OAC and all these Green New Deal folks don't even realize you can already travel across oceans on the transcontinental railroad, as well as to all 57 states.
The only solution is impeachment.
Recall the same press and that oh so funny guy confirmed his father is German by calling him Drumpf and labeling him Anna I.
Lol, make that the Intercontinental Railroad. Now Obama’s got me confused.
He should have claimed his father was born in Hawaii. And he can produce a birth certificate to prove it.
What does this have to do with the Price of Corn ? Fake News.
Media Folks!!! Did Trump put that on his employment application to get preferential treatment? If not, the just STFU
This is hughes and series!! Does the DU’s know about this?
