I honestly think we need to flip our justice system on its head. If you have money, your penalties are harsher when you are found guilty or plea.

I admit, I have a soft spot for Loughlin.....

because, as a kid, I just loved Jody and Gavin on the soap opera, Edge of Night.

I’m okay with this...

I am too if we keep going. Let's tear the lid completely off this scandal! Let's put everyone's names out there.

And let's not just stop at a couple ditzy actresses who paid off a rowing coach. Let's look at all the bogus admissions; the fake racial ethnicities, fake disabilities, everything.

We may have to build more prisons.

Allegedly, the money went into the crew coach’s pocket, not the university.

Tell them to have Kim Foxx review their cases. Oh wait...they’re white. Never mind.

"You can't have people being treated differently because they have money," an official told the website.

Unless they are black or a prominent Democratic politician.

It effectively held costs down for other students.

Nah, a university’s endowment grows; tuition doesn’t go down.

The crime is against prospective students who were qualified for the seat being denied that seat due to fraud on behalf of another prospective student.

Not really because the excess went to individuals pockets not the general scholarship funds.

Indeed - and yet Juicee Smollett not only walks around free but dares the
Chicago PD to do somethin about it. Kim Fixx says we’re not smart enough to get the “nuances” of the justice system and that “no one was hurt”

I really don’t understand the crime.

Honestly, it's hard for me to get too worked up over this "scandal" when universities are already full of students who played some card to get in at the expense of someone more academically qualified who didn't. It's all a hustle.

The chance they see the slammer is close to zero IMO. Fines yes. Community service perhaps but sharing a cell with bubba or lakisia not happening.

Isn’t there a long history of people funding new buildings at colleges and their prodigy being accepted?

Is that a crime?

Is this different because they used athletic scholarships and bribed an individual coach instead of bribing the school as a whole?

Those two women will, of course, never see the inside of a prison. A couple weeks in county jail at most, but probably not even that.

Pay money and work 90 hours in a soup kitchen.

Yes to what?

Endowments to the universities can’t buy children’s participation?

Or Yes this was different becaused they bribed individuals instead of the university?

I agree. Prison should be reserved for violent dangerous criminals. All others should give back to the community and learn something.
