Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said Democrats have a "dug a hole" for themselves with their years of claims of Trump-Russia collusion and now don't know what to do after Special Counsel Robert Mueller did not confirm their suspicions.
He said Mueller's report does not have to be released, according to Justice Department policies, and Attorney General William Barr is going "above and beyond" by promising to release a redacted version to Congress.
Spicer blasted House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) for continuing to claim collusion occurred "in plain sight." He said if that were true, Mueller would have come to a very different conclusion.
"2,800 subpoenas, 500 witnesses and yet [Mueller] couldn't find it with this team of top-notch investigators and FBI agents. But Adam Schiff sure can find it, he just can't tell you where it is but he knows it exists," he said.
President Trump tweeted Monday morning about the "collusion delusion" and "crazed Democrats."

They weren't lying to us, they were lying to their own base. Many of them are realizing that now.
Dems want the whole report, do you think Mueller put anything in there that would embarrass the dems?
They want the report public asap so they can get ahead of any implications to their caucus. They are probably worried more than anything.
Ah, I have little hope for many dems waking up from this.
Trump is still guilty. He just didn’t get caught.
I DO think this had a big effect on Independents.
And I think Trump will win easily barring any unforeseen major events.

Dems don’t stop digging unless they run out of someone else’s money.
They want the whole report so they can re-write it and leak it
The Rats want the whole report out so it can be digested, “pooh-pooh’ed”, swept under the rug & quickly declared old news and unimportant. Get it out of the way and forgotten before 2020. Hopefully the Trump (i.e. Barr) administration will stretch this out release portions. make the “Rats” howl and complain Trump is “hiding something”. Barr releases a little more, more Rat howling & screaming. Then at a strategic time in the election run-up time period release the whole nothing-burger thing!
Anyway that’s how the Rats would do it. Play it out, wring as much political show out of it as possible. Will Trump (Barr-GOP) do the same? Lets see!

They blew the load on Mueller
The plan for the bogus “collision” investigation was to turn up dirt on Trump on anything. Then they would switch out fake “collusion” excuse with whatever salacious and/or illegal thing Mueller raked up. Everyone would have forgotten “collusion”. IT DIDN’T HAPPEN. TRUMP IS SQUEAKY CLEAN!!!
And many want to believe the lie.
I said basically the same thing even before the Mueller investigation. The left painted themselves into a corner on Trump, a logical corner in which they cannot get out. They came to believe he is crazed, craven, sexist, racist, xenophobe. And in America, those are unforgivable.
Nevermind that the country has known this man in the public eye for 4 decades. Exactly when did they learn all this horrible stuff about him? When he had a hit TV show? When he owned casino licenses? When he got scores and scores of government contracts? When he was on Oprah?
Letterman? It’s nonsense. Sexist, racist, xenophobes don’t get to have all that adoring exposure. It was all DNC/HRC propaganda.
Until they can realize they have been indoctrinated into a cult of hatred, with dogma written by political operatives with the intention of trying to give Trump “unfavorable” polling numbers that equalled HRC’s, they won’t get themselves out of the corner they painted themselves into.
Instead of reconciling they needed another explanation for how such a crazed, craven, sexist, racist, xenophobe won the election. Must be collusion.
I may be wise to remember that the dem base, and perhaps half the population, doesn’t think it’s a big hole, if one at all. If nothing happens to the perps, then you’ll know it isn’t a hole at all, just another political kerfuffle. No harm, no foul, no hole.
Wrong metaphor. They took the bait and can’t throw off the hook.
