Anti-corruption candidate Zuzana Caputova has won Slovakia's presidential election, making her the country's first female head of state.
Ms Caputova, who has almost no political experience, defeated high-profile diplomat Maros Sefcovic, nominated by the governing party, in a second round run-off vote.
She framed the election as a struggle between good and evil. The election follows the murder of an investigative journalist last year.
Jan Kuciak was looking into links between politicians and organised crime when he was shot alongside his fiancée in February 2018.

Liberalism aside...not guilty.
“In a country where same-sex marriage and adoption is not yet legal, her liberal views promote LGBTQ+ rights”. Slovakia chose poorly, this woman’s philosophy is cancer.
Sounds like Trump; no political experience, her party has no seats (like Trump’s Nationalists), doesn’t care about pervert topics (he doesn’t, either), and she’s divorced.
"Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion" Proverbs 11:22
Except Trump governs as a conservative. A few years of her flinging open the borders will be VERY DIFFICULT to reverse, as Western Europe has found out.
Couldn’t you make that picture a little larger?
Hillary Clinton is mad...
Our border is still open as well - and each day the problem is getting more difficult to reverse. I support Trump, but view him as more of a patriot than a conservative; he made it clear “gay marriage” wasn’t even on his radar during the campaign (which I’m sure convinced social liberals they could safely vote for him), and our spending climbs higher and higher (no fiscal conservative there). I believe he sincerely wants to improve the quality of life for the average American, and so he is worth voting for; outside of that, I don’t expect much else - we’re not reclaiming ground lost in the last half century of the culture wars.
I do agree with that, but that lady’s motives are much more likely like those of Democrats!
Nice freckles.
I’m voting not guilty.
Couldnt you make that picture a little larger?

This is me smiling at your remark. Take comfort. Wasn’t Madeline Albright or Hillary or M. Obama. The lady is easy on the eyes.
I understand.
In another year and a half the American people are going to decide whether this country appears to have had a Democrat or Republican president for the last four years (since Trump really is neither). When I watch my “political porn” (YouTube clips of 2016 election night), I see the Dems forced to admit there are “Obama/Trump voters” who must have delivered several key states to him - especially FL, OH, PA, MI, and WI. Those voters may still view their Trump votes as worth it, as many of their priorities are still official policy.
Yep, Trump is doing what’s necessary to win, given the mess of the country we have. He COULD go after entitlements, but he would have never been elected, and certainly not be re-elected. So he’s trying to do it backdoor, by freeing up the economy so much that we grow our way out of structural deficit...better than doing nothing, but it may not be enough. Likewise on social issues - if he were Brim and Firestone on gays, abortion, and similar issues, he wouldn’t have a chance in today’s America...so he goes backdoor again, this time through judges - hopefully that does work!
You’re right, and that is the troubling reality we face today. I fear we’ve seen our last president that even remotely resembled a fiscal and social conservative. Nobody has the political will to cut entitlements (if anything, we keep adding them: Bush II’s Medicare prescription drug plan and ObamaCare), and the culture war in terms of families has been definitely lost on a national level.
"Liberal" is a relative term. If in the US, she'd be right of center. For example, saying "I prefer the child to have a biological mother and a biological father" would exclude her from the US Left. Time will tell how she does on migration.
