he Texas attorney general is investigating whether the city of San Antonio violated Chick-fil-A's religious liberty when it banned the fast food chain from its airport.
Last week, the San Antonio city council approved a new concessions contract for the San Antonio International Airport -- on the condition that Chick-fil-A be excluded.
Texas attorney general Ken Paxton slammed the city's decision as "discriminatory" and "inconsistent with the Constitution and Texas law." He echoed that thought in a tweet substituting waffle fries for the famous cannon in the Gonzales flag used during the Texas Revolution.

Chick-fil-A’s religious liberty
If San Antonio wants to run an airport, then that airport will have to abide by the US Constitution.
Sounds like the State of Texas is about to give them a BIG TIME Civics lesson.
What a stupid, social justice signaling move.
Banning the best chicken sandwich and the best waffle fries on the planet is like banning warm apple pie and vanilla ice cream.
Kill joys. Lousy bureaucrats.
Starbucks coffee stinks. I wish they would ban that at airports.
I always quote this statement in front of rabid Christophobes, who disparage Christian doctrine, tradition and those who hold it. Then I show them that it comes directly from the majority opinion in Obergefell which "legalized" same-sex so-called "marriage."
If CFA can fulfill the contract, then they should be allowed to compete on a flat playing field. I assume that the Airport requires the restaurant be open specific hours, 7 days a week. If being open on Sunday is a requirement that CFA can’t meet, then that would be a valid reason to deny them the contract. Being Christian is not.
The only acceptable end result is to remove those who voted to not allow Chick-fil-A to open a store in the airport.
Anything less is unacceptable and allows government to actively discriminate against Christians.

I’ve never had a problem with Ben and Jerry’s being in my supermarket or elsewhere. I just don’t buy the stuff.
Religious liberty? Chick-fil-A is a business. They are not a church. This has more to do with politics.
It’s a broader question. Can cities, municipalities, etc ban businesses from operating in a defined area based on the political stands of its CEO?
I salute the Texas AG for taking this on and hope they think this through on how they challenge what San Antonio is doing. It is critical that they get it right and win this battle.
The current SA Mayor and City Council’s primary agenda is promoting the homosexual lifestyle and attacking it’s perceived enemies. Last year they put in gay rainbow crosswalks. It seems they are obsessed with it over what should be other higher priorities.
I buy Ben & Jerry’s occasionally. But I like Haagen Dazs better.
I have pivoted to frozen yogurt.
Well stated.
Or finally get cnn off the fuching tvs.
I drove past a Chick-Filet about an hour ago and the drive thru line was literally all the way around the building.
The name San Antonio bears a much more religious tone than Chick Filet. Perhaps atheist LGBTQ should find offense in that name and the cuckold mayor can change the city name to Gay Antoine.
Question for anyone that knows. I’ve looked on the net but can’t find the answer.
Where at the San Antonio Airport is this Chick Fil A located? Is it in
the terminal or on Air Port property removed from the Terminal bldg?
That wasn’t the reason given as to why they were barred.
