Days Of Reckoning

It’s pretty easy to fool people, especially when they want to believe. The disintegration of the blood testing company Theranos and the fraud exposed in its ashes is a prime example – the media wanted to elevate a woman entrepreneur in Silicon Valley, chose Elizabeth Holmes and they weren’t going to let anything stand in their way. The political left is facing a reckoning in the weeks ahead, as ABC’s Terry Moran put it, that promises to be every bit as devastating as what happened to Theranos.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller will, sooner or later, issue his report on attempted Russian interference in the 2016 election. In preparation for this, expectations of liberals are being lowered.

One NBC News story was entitled, “You may be disappointed by the Mueller report.” A Politico story had its own variation, “Mueller report PSA: Prepare for disappointment.” Apparently, NBC News and Politico believe finding out the president did not break the law is a disappointment. Tells you more about what happens in their newsrooms than about Donald Trump.

These are just two examples of dozens of stories and statements from leftists resetting the bar to prepare true believers for the rude awakening awaiting them. But what happens to their audiences, their constituents when what they’ve been told happened is shown to be a lie?

What happens to the CNN or MSNBC devotee who has been told for two years that Donald Trump was a puppet of Putin, that he colluded with the Russian government to steal the election, when the man they’ve hung their hopes on comes in with a report saying it did not happen?

There is no wiggle room in the declarations and reports from the last two years. There isn’t an anchor, reporter, or contributor on those networks who hasn’t asserted, in no uncertain terms, that Mueller was going to expose the “truth” and bring about at least the beginning of the end of the Donald Trump presidency. How do their audiences take them seriously again?

How can they have Congressmen Adam Schiff, Maxine Watters, Eric Swalwell, or any number of others back on their networks to talk about anything after? Who would believe them?

Where do they go to get their credibility back?

The truth is they won’t have to worry about it. Journalism no longer conveys information, it’s comfort food. It’s the warm blanket on a cold night for liberals; a safe space from the realities of a booming economy and decreasing government dependence.

The truth is they want to be lied to. People who refuse to accept Donald Trump is president want to hear only about how he really shouldn’t be, how he “stole” the election and will soon be exposed and removed. When that doesn’t happen, when the garbage reporting and opinion they’ve gleefully swallowed for two years is exposed as vitriolic empty calories they’ll have no one to ultimately blame for their anger obesity but themselves.

The rest of the country, however, will have to deal with the aftermath of two years of lies, anonymous sources, fake news, and Jim Acosta’s sermons on how a fundraising poem is legally binding immigration policy. With Don Lemon’s pronouncements of how everything is racist because he says it is. With Chris Cuomo’s attempts to explain the Constitution when he likely can’t spell the word. And with Morning Joe’s dangerous combination of arrogance and ignorance delivered with the certainty that can only come from within the security of an insulated bubble so absolute even light can’t escape.

The casual news consumer, who likely projected some credibility onto the people stamped with the approval of organizations constantly declaring their fidelity to truth and “democracy dying in darkness,” will demand a reckoning.

Polls show the media is only slightly more popular than a painful infection and self-dentistry. When the conclusion of the Mueller investigation turns out to be the political equivalent of opening Al Capone’s vault, the limited esteem in which the public already holds the news business will be gone.

An entire political party has staked its future and reputation on rumor and innuendo; stories likely to be exposed soon as a willing fraud. In the case of the media, these are people whose job it is to do better; with politicians, these are people whose job allows them access to the information to actually know better. That reckoning is going to be big and answer the one question there is no good answer for: Why should anyone ever trust them again?

ENDGAME : Trump's Vindication Nears

Leftists have long alleged that Donald Trump has conducted crimes with the mafia, as well as with Russian oligarchs. What they can never explain is why Trump has never been indicted. As REX explains, there may be a reason for that. And in 2019, it's all connected to POTUS Trump's masterful takedown of The Swamp.

From the article ( ENDGAME : Trump's Vindication Nears )

"Ask yourself this - would these men know that Trump has been a long-standing patriot and FBI source, for decades?

Answer - yes. Would any of these men work for Trump, if he was the traitor and Russian agent, that leftist journalists have been accusing him of?

Answer - no way.

2019 - Mueller is SC. Rosenstein is DAG. Barr is now AG. And how about Donald J Trump, patriot, billionaire, FBI informant?

President of the United States of America. Have any leftist reporters made these connections? No, of course not. They're still chasing shiny objects down endless information dead-ends, chasing that elusive piece of evidence that they know must exists, proving 'OrangeManBad'.

My advice?

Laugh and ignore them. As they've run around like headless chickens, we can see that Trump has assembled a mighty team to drain the Swamp. The strategy has been nothing short of genius and the execution, masterful.

It is now far too late for the enemies of The Republic to respond. Taken by complete surprise, their fates are sealed.

The Storm is upon us.

The stage is set, for Trump's hammer to fall."

I'm sure Mueller was cued to implement the the Democrats' patented "wrap-up smear."

Nancy Pelosi actually described their smear technique in a press conference.
Apparently destroying people is no big deal to a Democrat, as long as it gets them back in power.

=================================================

In 2017, at a press conference, Pelosi blithely revealed the tried-and-true Democrat demonization tactic called the “wrap-up smear.”

PELOSI: “We Democrats call it the ‘wrap-up smear.’ You smear somebody, with falsehoods and all the rest,
and then you merchandise it to the media,” Pelosi said matter-of factly, as if she were giving out a recipe for apple pie.

SOUND FAMILIAR? This patented Democrat criminal MO was used against Justice Kavanaugh.

Hillary is extremely good at this——in 2016 she’d “leak” what she said was damaging info on Trump to the media.

Then when the smear was published-—she’d wave around the news clipping to show she was the superior candidate.

Too bad the Dims can't make the smear work against Trump.

Our future depends on those who do not want to be lied to.

I hope they form a majority of the electorate.

There is evidence that only 25-35 percent of the electorate wants to believe President Trump colluded with the Russians to steal the election.

The other 65-75 percent are more closely aligned with reality.

“There is no wiggle room in the declarations and reports from the last two years.”

The author must be delusional. for the Democrats there is ALWAYS wiggle room. It makes no difference to them or to the media that they constantly contradict themselves when the narrative changes.

What is far, far, worse IMO, is not that the media was wrong. Even that they were repeatedly wrong.

THE MAIN PROBLEM AND THE EGREGIOUS SCANDAL IN THIS ASPECT, IS THAT THE MEDIA WAS A WILLING, COMPLICIT, ACTIVE PLAYER IN THIS HOAX, THIS ONGOING ATTEMPT TO BRING DOWN A LEGALLY ELECTED PRESIDENT. THAT IS THE SCANDAL.

We don't give a rat's ass about the media's "credibility" because they have lost that, and did so decades ago.

And we also have to accept the fact that there is a significant portion of the electorate, as the article states, who WANT to be lied to, and believe the lies in the face of reality.

________

SO, SO CORRECT!

I used to get so angry years ago when I tried to tell people where to direct their vilification.

It's not merely the evil actions of politicians and leaders that need to be exposed and vilified .... IT MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY IS THE CORRUPTION OF THE MEDIA THAT LIES ABOUT THOSE POLITICIANS AND OUTRIGHTLY AVOIDS THEIR WRONGDOING.

A country with a media this sick and dishonest is in grave danger!

I am, and have been anti-media for decades now, but that does not mean we don’t need media.

But the Internet, with both sides of the sword that it is, have enabled people to obtain more information (admittedly both good and bad information) that the media does not provide.

We all know it, the media presents events and issues to consumers of “news”, and they do it in such a way to influence the audience to subcribe to the point of view the media wishes them to subscribe to.

Sure, they lie, outright lie. But just as often, or even more so, they slant, obfuscate, or omit information in order to steer their audience.

Once you know that, as many of us do, you cannot un-know it.

What they can never explain is why Trump has never been indicted

Who cares about indictments? They can’t even give a definition of collusion. All they say is, He colluded. When asked how, they answer, He colluded.
