BINGO! About $7 a pack is taxes. Dumbo even made the Military pay Cig taxes.

I’m not a smoker, never wanted to be. But if Vaping will get my sons OFF them I’m all for it. I watched BOTH my parents die of Lung Cancer, Dad’s was a combo WW 2 Vet, Steel Mill Boilermaker, and 2 packs a day unfiltered. Mom’s burned more in the ashtray, than what she smoked of half a pack a day.

NOW if they want to do something Constructive Stop the FAKE OPIOID CRISIS, and let our doctors treat us. Pols are NOT doctors, we might have 4-5 in US Congress, same in a State Legislature and NOT one of them stood up for us. Let my pain go into heart attack BP and I’ll have one, or the heart or Mitral valve will blow. CDC LIED, Kolodny who sits on the PROP committee OWNS failing Suboxone Clinics. They aren’t failing anymore. His dad the Dentist also serves on the same committee.

5 deaths this week of Heart Attacks and Suicide over Intractable Pain Disease, Yes it’s a Medical Disease. Thus Malpractice NOT to treat. Legal Opioids are the only treatment. Been in high level pain since 32 and I’ll be 71 in Aug. Doctors can’t cure what they DESTROYED.

Thank you for posting this. I could have written every single word because what he described is also my experience. Exactly. Vaping is a miracle for stopping smoking. Immediately and forever. Anyone criticizing it has no idea what they are talking about. Period.

won't be long before almost everyone's using marijuana. And it won't be restricted to the "medical" kind. Folks will want their high with their pain killers, and the taxman and big tobacco and others who take over the market will profit from that.

Great move, stoners. What were you thinking when you thought legalizing (ie: controlling and taxing) marijuana is a good idea?

The problem is they can’t seem to stop kids doing it. The manufacturers and businesses won’t stop selling it to kids.

Most vape juice contains nicotine. That is an addictive chemical. And studies show people who vape are many times more likely to try tobacco. Vaping has become an exit to many smokers, but it’s also become an entry for non-smokers...especially kids.

There is noting worse than your clothes stinking of cigarette smoke. This alone should someone want to quit smoking.

Alcohol is an addictive chemical as well. Your point?

The manufacturers and businesses won’t stop selling it to kids.

Right! They're going to intentionally break the law to sell a product to someone they aren't supposed to sell it to.

Title 21 - Food and Drugs. CHAPTER I - FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES (CONTINUED).
SUBCHAPTER K - TOBACCO PRODUCTS.
PART 1140 - CIGARETTES AND SMOKELESS TOBACCO.
Subpart B - Prohibition of Sale and Distribution to Persons Younger Than 18 Years of Age.

§ 1140.14 Additional responsibilities of retailers.
In addition to the other requirements under this part, each retailer is responsible for ensuring that all sales of cigarettes or smokeless tobacco to any person comply with the following requirements:

(a) No retailer may sell cigarettes or smokeless tobacco to any person younger than 18 years of age;
(b)(1) Except as otherwise provided in § 1140.16(c)(2)(i) and in paragraph (b)(2) of this section, each retailer shall verify by means of photographic identification containing the bearer's date of birth that no person purchasing the product is younger than 18 years of age;

(2) No such verification is required for any person over the age of 26; (c) Except as otherwise provided in § 1140.16(c)(2)(ii), a retailer may sell cigarettes or smokeless tobacco only in a direct, face-to-face exchange without the assistance of any electronic or mechanical device (such as a vending machine);
(d) No retailer may break or otherwise open any cigarette or smokeless tobacco package to sell or distribute individual cigarettes or a number of unpackaged cigarettes that is smaller than the quantity in the minimum cigarette package size defined in § 1140.16(b), or any quantity of cigarette tobacco or smokeless tobacco that is smaller than the smallest package distributed by the manufacturer for individual consumer use; and
(e) Each retailer shall ensure that all self-service displays, advertising, labeling, and other items, that are located in the retailer's establishment and that do not comply with the requirements of this part, are removed or are brought into compliance with the requirements under this part.

Your comment flies in the face of common sense.
Would you like me to look up the penalties for not obeying that section of law?

In case you're wondering how that applies...SUBCHAPTER K - TOBACCO PRODUCTS.

Section 101 of the Tobacco Control Act - Amendment of Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA)
Definition of Tobacco Products.
Section 201 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (21 U.S.C. 321) is amended by adding at the end the following:
The term 'tobacco product' means any product made or derived from tobacco that is intended for human consumption, including any component, part, or accessory of a tobacco product (except for raw materials other than tobacco used in manufacturing a component, part, or accessory of a tobacco product).
The term 'tobacco product' does not mean an article that is a drug under subsection (g)(1), a device under subsection (h), or a combination product described in section 503(g).
The products described in paragraph (2) shall be subject to chapter V of this Act.
A tobacco product shall not be marketed in combination with any other article or product regulated under this Act (including a drug, biologic, food, cosmetic, medical device, or a dietary supplement)."

I know you weren’t addressing me, but I just wanted to also point out a bit of legalese ridiculousness...

The atomizer device of the e-cigarette is made of metal and cotton.
But if you look on a package of atomizers, it’ll read: “WARNING! This product contains nicotine. An addictive chemical.”

There’s nicotine in metal and cotton now? Who knew?

;-)

“Your issue isn’t with raspberry lung at all and it is all about somebody substituting what you consider to be a bad habit with something you also consider to be a bad habit.”

I never said that, and I don’t really care to have you put words in my mouth.

“Now, if you’d just try to ponder that one on your own, you might just alleviate your ignorance a bit.”

Look in the mirror, tell yourself everyday that “I am not a smoker” or perhaps “I am not a drinker” or perhaps “I am not a philanderer” or perhaps “I am not a gambler”

After while you might even start to believe it. And that’s the beginning. I’ve fallen out of a lot of poor habits. It’s not easy at all but you got to start someplace. Mark Twain once said along the lines of “quitting smoking is the easiest thing I’ve ever done, I’ve quit at least thousand times.”

If you think you’re talking to an altar boy, or some saintly holier-than-thou dude... You would be greatly mistaken.

A few years back I lived in downtown Sac, and would walk my dogs by the convention center, always fun to see the different crowds for different events.

Comicon was easy to spot, but one event I couldn’t figure out: more tats than a biker convention, but no bikes, and nearly all of them smoking heavily outside.

They were ex-addicts, and more than a few told me that the cigarettes had saved their lives.

Nothing personal Augie... We all have our own opinions, and they all stink...

Do you have trouble with your reading? I did not state my opinion. I asked a simple question.

I don’t have a problem with my reading but you obviously have a problem with my opinion. That’s too bad. This website promotes opinions.
