An 11-year-old is in police custody in connection to a double shooting on Friday morning in Alton, New Hampshire.
The Union Leader reports authorities responded to the shooting near Valley Road around 7:40 a.m. The newspaper said two people were shot and at least one has died. An 11-year-old is reportedly in police custody following a search that lasted for hours.

No details now. If I had to bet, Mom had a boyfriend - but we will have to wait and see.
I live nearby the site - lots of normal townsfolk, but also lots of people back in the hills who live lifestyles at odds with what townspeople would call “normal”.
The shooting location qualifies as “back in the hills”, at least in my definition of same.

Why is this news? Doesn’t this happen literally every weekend in Chicago?
There’s a video circulating on the news here in DC of a group of “youths” firing off a bunch of rounds in broad daylight in a DC neighborhood. You can’t really see them because of their hoodies, but they have the builds and movements of 11-13 year olds.
