It's an indictment on both of them... This is Trump's signature issue and he failed to persuade and build a coalition on the wall.

I'll say this much...

As a newcomer to Washington, Trump relied on the party in Congress to follow through with their statements of support. If he was wrong about anything, it was that the GOP had his back for retaking the White House.

Trump trusted Ryan and McConnell. The fault is really theirs, not his, since ultimately everyone is correct that the border solution is rightfully Congress' to solve.

Even if it was Trump's signature campaign issue, he shouldn't have had to face such fierce fragging by his own side. We had two years of complete federal control, and it was Ryan and McConnell who messed it up, not Trump.

He shouldn't have had to struggle at all to build a coalition, it should have been there eagerly awaiting him. The fact that it wasn't there for repealing ObamaCare, it wasn't there for immigration reform, it wasn't there for getting his Cabinet confirmed, and it' not there now, says all we need to know about Congress, not Trump.

“Trump trusted Ryan and McConnell.”

I doubt it. Trump is not that stupid. Presidents don’t just pontificate and assume everyone follows them. They must bend arms and persuade people to support their agenda. Trump got a lot of people onboard but not enough. Thus his signature issue is defeated by his own party. Not a good day.

All of what you post is proof of the existence of the deep state, insiders, globalists who control the uni party of democrats and Republicans. Without a border and strict immigration control, there will be no need for elections. The traitors within the Republican party are despicable and I can only hope that everything they have been lusting and working for is stripped from each and every one of them. Pres Trump will find a way around them and be reelected in 2020.
