Harvard hasn’t been the same since Elle Woods graduated Harvard Law.

Hate to be the one throwing cold water, but these lawsuits strike me as patently frivolous.

First, I don’t understand how the plaintiffs can hold schools liable for actions the schools apparently didn’t know about, and were taken by individuals acting against the school’s interest, and for their own individual benefit.

Even if one got over that hurdle, you would have to show that the schools would have admitted some other student rather than the student corruptly admitted. That doesn’t strike me as at all obvious.

Then I don’t see how this works as a class action. The only person who was discretely injured would be the one person who might have been admitted in the place of the student corruptly admitted. As I understand how this worked, that would not have been a student from the general population, but the student, for example, who would have actually qualified for admission as the coxswain of the school crew.

You will have to go back read the charges> http://dig.abclocal.go.com/kgo/PDF/031219-kgo-college-criminal-complaint.pdf

USC had several coaches and the athletic director involved. A USC admissions officer and a professor have been placed on leave. The USC womens atheltic director accepted the bribe. The USC assistant women’s soccer coach accepted bribes. The USC head women’s soccer coach accepted bribes. The USC head coach of water polo accepted bribes. And there could be more and this is just USC.

What about Chelsea Clinton?

She's gotten a pile of degrees from major univs, however to when one hears her speak, she does not come across as, um, "bookish".

One would wager that if some TAs who graded some of Chelsea's essays were to come forward, some heavy influence in her favor might be exposed to daylight.

One doubts seriously that she earned her way into these institutions, and even more so that she earned the degrees conferred upon her.

Yes here we go.

Huge story that will eat up lots of airtime at the same time that the Mueller non story hit the air.

This is worthy of prosecution, but the timing of the story smells.

Even if that’s all true, it doesn’t address any of my points.

I am not saying there shouldn’t be repercussions. Those involved should clearly be held criminally accountable.

But none of the money is alleged to have been paid to the school itself, or gone to its benefit. It was all pocketed by corrupt individuals.

Who were working for the school, one of whom was an admissions officer. I think they have a good case.

Fischer-Price "shapes" sphere

My three kids had that toy. Kept them occupied for a while. Good for spacial recognition, hand eye co-ordination, and other skills.

Bingo! Discovery will go to the lower elitists, who paid to have the system get their kids into certain colleges.

Discovery should be a hoot.

I can’t see how they settle without opening the flood gates...

Bwah hah hah hah hah!

Kids of prominent politicians get in because they are kids of prominent politicians; no bribes needed other than steering government to the institution.

My wife, adult sons, siblings, DILs and I are so dumb when it comes to this type of stuff. We would never think of this scam:

I just hope Obama gets dragged in, not just his kid’s tennis coach.

I’ll lay odds Barry’s been selling letters of recommendation.

If David Hogg is getting into Harvard with a 1270 SAT, can you imagine the lawsuits from much other better qualified applicants.

How many current and past congressits and their children did a Ted Kennedy to get into one of the Elitist universities?

If Asian Americans get a disproportionate share of seats, so be it. It would give others who wanted to attend prestigious schools an incentive to excel. It would also help a lot if these schools weren't so fond of foreign students instead of US citizens.

I suspect that another outcome would be that Caucasian students who got in would include a lot who are excluded now. It would be better for everyone.

I did not know she went to Yale and University of Virginia School of Law. (just checked; it’s true). Maybe it’s time we started making fun of Yale, Harvard, and some others and the caliber of leaders they’ve produced.

If the admissions process and results were truly transparent we wouldn’t have as much abuse of the system.
Colleges want to keep it a secret s they can exchange favors for $$$$$$$

And let's not forget the "stylish" Michell went to elite Princeton.

Her senior thesis is said to be less than stellar.....semi-illiterate, her "feelings" about race.....an F in the real world.
