This will be a weekly post.
The count is now 89 judges confirmed.
53 District Court judges
34 Circuit Court judges
2 Supreme Court justices
McConnell has teed up at least three more for next week and the Judiciary Committee sent two more to the floor.
Trump has now appointed 20% of the Circuit courts and 10% of the Judiciary overall.
So appreciate your weekly report Of all accomplishments this may be the most important IMO
That alone merits his re-election support from us
Seven of Trump's last eight Circuit nominees have received heavy Democrat opposition.
Sometimes that's a good indicator, sometimes that doesn't mean anything at all.
Trump's District Court nominees do not look impressive.
Only 5 of 53 District nominees got more than 40 Democrat “No” votes.
26 were approved by “Voice Vote.”
10 were approved with zero Democrats voting in opposition.
I think Gorsuch may turn out to be a reliable Conservative.
I don't trust Kavanaugh at all. He told the Senate Judiciary Committee that the Justice he most admired was RINO “Swing Voter” Anthony Kennedy.
This Wiki link may be helpful for you....
“List of federal judges appointed by Donald Trump”
It shows all nominees and reports every Senate vote.

“I don’t trust Kavanaugh at all. He told the Senate Judiciary Committee that the Justice he most admired was RINO Swing Voter Anthony Kennedy.”
I would have said the same thing we’re I the nominee. Dems are predisposed to vote against him to begin with. Why give them ammunition by choosing someone like Scalia as your most admired USSCJ?
Didnt he clerk for Kennedy? Some times its hard to get the stardust out of your eyes.
“Didn’t he clerk for Kennedy?”
I don’t know but if he did that would explain his answer.
But how can conservatism ever win if conservatives (or at least Republicans) always shake with fear? Republican nominees for the courts should be proud originalists because originalism is the only legitimate judicial philosophy in the system of checks and balances. Other judicial philosophies simply give the courts too much power. If they cant explain this fact persuasively, they arent qualified for the position of a judge.
The result of this fear is that Republican presidents always have one great (or very good) nominee and one not-so-good nominee: George H. W. Bush - Thomas and Souter, George W. Bush - Alito and Roberts, Donald Trump - Gorsuch and (possibly) Kavanaugh. Ronald Reagan actually had one great nominee (Scalia) and two not-so-good ones (Kennedy and OConnor).
It is possible that Kavanaugh will turn out to be okay, but I am not sure. He seems to have some moderate tendencies. If those tendencies are as bad as Roberts, we shall see. On the other hand, I have read a study that compared potential President Trumps nominees, and Neil Gorsuch was one of the most originalist ones (along with Allison Eid, who is now a judge for the Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and Thomas Lee, who is a justice for the Utah Supreme Court).
That should say: ...President Trumps potential nominees...
I didnt mean to say that Donald Trump is a potential president.

I borrowed this for Twitter. Thx.
Matey and one other on Ninth up for a vote next week.
That will be 36a record for this point in time.
Zero had 51 after 4 years. The Third Circuit has now been flipped. The 2 next week should make it 16-13 on the Ninth, greatly diminishing the mischief it can do.
34 Circuit Court judges is a very big deal. Obama got 55 and seriously started to shift the courts leftward. Weve got a ways to go to counter that but 34 so far is a damn fine start.
With any luck hell get to replace at least one of the Gang of Four on the Supreme Court. Im glad for Gorsuch and Kavanaugh. Those two were crucial to hold the line but we havent really shifted the Supreme Court yet. That will only come when some of Old Man Breyer, Ruth Buzzard, the Wide Latina or Kagan get replaced.
Re: “The 2 Judges next week should make it 16-13 on the Ninth, greatly diminishing the mischief it can do.”
Mark Jeremy Bennett, one of Trump’s confirmed judges for the Ninth, will be a disaster.
The Senate voted 72-27 to confirm.
All 27 “No” votes were Republicans!
Re: I would have said the same thing were I the nominee.
It’s bad enough that we allow GOP presidential candidates to lie to get elected.
If our Supreme Court nominees need to lie to get confirmed, it’s time to start planning for a peaceful division of “These United States.”
INHO this slow walking of confirmations by the Senate is criminal, an infringement on the intent and word of the US Constitution. Shame, Shame, Shame!!!
I guess I owe a “Thank You” to McTurtle for doing his job.
Has McConnell dumped the 30 hour “rule” on testimony in the hearings yet? That has been how the Democrats have been slow walking the nomination process. I say dump it now as time is short and the Democrats will not allow Pres. Trump any judges in the year 2020. 2019 is the year we mut get in conservative judges.
