Exactly. Look at all the “conservatives” who have stabbed us in the back over the years: Roberts, Rubio, McStain. You know the rest. DJT is a Godsend.
That's why you have so many people still believing in global warming, even though it has been totally discredited by the facts. They just will never admit that they were wrong.

I don't know if there is any one answer but I have a definition that satisfies me.
A Conservative is a citizen who opposes the Progressive agenda calling for more legislative power than the founders provided in the Constitution.

I’m not even sure what the word “conservative” means anymore. Frankly, I don’t really care, either. The administration of George W. Bush was a real eye-opener for me. I have my own political standards, and after the disgraceful idiocy this country went through with that family of Republican @ssholes in the White House I sure as hell have no interest in letting some pr!cks like Bill Kristol and Mitt Romney define what “conservative” political standards are supposed to be.

In answer to the question: Want to Combat Hate? on another post, my response was:
NO, I don’t want to combat hate. I hate anyone and everyone who would consciously seek to harm me, my family, my friends, or my country. And I hate them enough to hurt them, and I want them to clearly understand that.

It makes absolutely no sense to hate hate. Indeed it could be argued that it’s immoral to hate hate.
I don’t hate Never-Trumpers... I know who they are and what they do. They are the Washington Generals of the beltway’s Harlem Globetrotters. They appear on the Sunday shows to give them some air of legitimacy, put up a good fight when surrounded by total dingbats like Juan Williams or Eleonor Clift, but somehow DC always gets bigger and more leftist. I don’t hate them any more than I hate Lena Headley for playing Ciersi Lannister. They are pretty good at their roles. Trump came to DC and went completely off-script and that is really bothering them right now.

Trump is not really a conservative, because in the current culture there is not much left to "conserve". What Trump really is, is a nationalist. I regard myself as a nationalist too.
What is a nationalist? Someone who cares more about the well-being of people who are members of his nation, than for people who are NOT of his nation. This is very upsetting to people who have spent most of their lives declaring they are NOT interested in being members of our nation.
Trump realizes that, in the real world, there are no "solutions" to problems, there are only trade-offs. A trade-off, by definition, may make A feel better off, but be displeasing to B.
Trump is picking who he wants better off, and this is displeasing to the current Elites, because THEY are not at the top of Trump's priority list of people to make happy.
