I agree with Otto’s parents on this. It was a cruel and horrible gaffe on Trump’s part. He got all weepy at SOTU over parents who lost children to criminal acts by illegals. But he is willing to give that little fat NoKo prick a pass on the terrible murder of the Warmbier’s son. No, No, and No!
Trump just had to say he pushed him on it, Kim denied it, but he raised his objections and emphasized this can’t happen again.
He also honored Otto and family at a previous SOTU. Trump did more for Otto than any other person on earth outside of his family. Ungrateful act here. They should have handled this privately if they had a problem.
I call BS on all the outrage at President Trump. Otto was an imbecile to travel to NoKo in the first place and his parents are equally liable for his death for not teaching their son better risk avoidance instincts.
I have zero sympathy for idiots. In my book, stupidity should be painful. We’d see less of it then.
Wasn’t this asked during a press conference?
What, pray tell, is Trump supposed to do? Get Kim in a headlock and beat the crap out of him? Kim is a brutal dictator. It’s the way he was born and raised. He has nuclear weapons. Should America just go and turn NK into a pile of rubble, killing Kim and half the population to take out the nuclear facilities? How many more American lives would that cost?
If the president wants to try and get Kim to see a different life, a country that can prosper and a citizenry that can actually eat and work, is that not the better way? How is he supposed to deal with Kim? Should Kim be brought along until he disposes of his weapons and then killed? I’m sure that’s just what the guy is thinking.
I don’t know what I’d do if I were the leader of the free world. Where the hell is the useless UN on all of this? Where are they on Venezuela? Syria? Honestly, why are they occupying space and taking in zillions of dollars? What are they there for? I would be asking them to relocate, sell the land for big bucks, and use the money that would normally be wasted on the UN and put it toward infrastructure projects.
What exactly did Trump say?
As far as this being a gaffe by Trump, if it wasn't this, the press would just be crucifying him over something else just as vigorously. If he didn't say anything bad for a day, they would have just made something up.
