In the complaint, Smith states (Mayor) Redefer provided four false statements to police, including that meeting attendees were told the document must be returned and that Smith assaulted Silver.
The complaint states that Redefer could not have witnessed Smiths behavior because he left the meeting at least 10 minutes before Smith arrived, and that Silver himself did not allege that Smith assaulted him.
These false statements alleging that plaintiff committed a crime were made to intimidate plaintiff who was a vocal critic of the mayors failure to be accountable on the military surplus program, the complaint reads. The mayor conspired with Silver to provide false information to Dempsey to have plaintiff arrested.
The complaint states that in his incident report, Dempsey failed to list witnesses who spoke with police and who did not see how a theft charge could be substantiated for taking a public document handed out [in] a public meeting, and that Dempsey did not arrest any other attendees who took the document.
The complaint states Silver filed a false police report, and it references Silvers falsification of audit committee meeting minutes to cover the false statements made in the incident reports by the mayor, Silver and others.
According to the complaint, The mayor conspired with Silver to replace the actual approved minutes of the audit committee with altered minutes that set forth a false narrative that supported Silver and the mayors statements in the incident report.

WELCOME TO FREE REPUBLIC
As a brand new FReeper, it’s always good to kind of hang back a bit and get the lay of the land before posting. For example, it’s customary to indicate where the heck whatever you’re posting about is happening, and who the heck the people are that it’s happening to.
DE beaches are so gay.
There might be a distinct possibility I could be found at the Starboard this summer.
Dewey Beach is no mystery to any resident of the DelMarVa peninsula any more than Del Mar Beach would be to a SoCalifornian.
Plus the corruption discussed in the article is so typical of the political atmosphere of the state of Delaware, that it ought to be of national interest to a lot of FReepers.
Just sayin' . . .
Hope MrIncredibleDE keeps on with such a clean-cut presentation in the future.
Ah, yes, Dewey Beach... (Delaware). Mid ‘80s. Ventured north up the coast on a whim. Her name was Barbara. Way out of my league. Her old man was loaded and she was staying with some friends at their beach house. Crazy party and Barbara on the beach... fun times.
Welcome to FRee Republic!!
Why wait till Summer? All the tourists are gone now. It’s the most beautiful time of the year.
‘Mayor TJ Redefer...’
TJ is the mayor...? I’ve dealt with him for rentals, more so with his brother Chris...good guys...
You beat me to it. Sounds like there was a bunch of bitch-slapping at a public meeting.
“Dewey Beach is no mystery to any resident of the DelMarVa peninsula...”
It may be a mystery to the 99.99% of readers who aren’t residents of DelMarVa peninsula.
Or one could spy on Christine Blasey Ford visiting her old Dewey FBI friend who still has a beach house there...
I think her house was in Rehoboth off of Scarborough somewhere.
Correct
You know Barbara too? 8>)
It's very familiar to the denizens of Capitol Hill. Maybe not to you, but I'll bet the number of people reading and contributing to FR is a lot more than 0.01% of the people who fund this web site. Though a small contigent, it is at least 30 times larger than your estimate, and not ignored by the Robinsons, I'll bet.
Naming the state an article is referring to informs 100% of potential readers. It’s not that hard, and it’s standard protocol on FR.
It is? I hadn't noticed that as being standard. But it is pretty obvious when one does what is standard before critiquing, and that is to follow the link to the article excerpted and at least read the banner. FWIW.
