Republican legislative leaders have appealed a court ruling striking down new North Carolina constitutional amendments mandating photo identification to vote and lower caps on income tax rates.
The notice filed on Monday with the Court of Appeals challenges Friday’s decision by a Wake County judge voiding legislative directives to put the amendments on the ballot and voter approval of them in November.
Judge Bryan Collins ruled the 2017-18 General Assembly that approved the amendment referendums last year were illegally established because federal courts had declared legislative district boundaries illegal gerrymanders.

You don’t appeal a wrong court decision, you dumbasses, you impeach and remove the black-robe fascists.
It’s becoming more apperent that the duty to remove black-robe Nazis will fall to the citizens.
State legislatures create the Laws but a county Judge can say , no no you can’t have that Law ,LOL, Without state legislatures making the Laws there would be no Judges ,LOL
His decision intentionally ignores the fact that both were ballot initiatives, and both passed by the voters with huge majorities, so that no matter how the districts may have been drawn, they both would have passed easily. He should be removed from the bench for this naked activism.
They shouldn’t even have to appeal - the ruling is nonsensical
These were constitutional amendments voted on by the People of NC.
They are not in his purview, no matter what his silly reasoning might be.
so is the judge saying the General Assembly are illegally established or the amendments are illegally established and voted on by the public, or just the districts are illegallly established?
He is saying “I’m a Democrat and I decide you Republicans have no say...”

This would have to be overturned by the appeals court, because by the argument of the judge, absolutely NOTHING the legislature did that year is “legal”.
Meaning that the budget is invalid, every appointment is overturned, every law passed is unpassed.
