You could be forgiven if you thought that the media onslaught against conservatives the last few years would have an effect on how most of the country views the right.
That media campaign - directed against Donald Trump but also against conservatives - has been unprecedented in its scope and intensity. Conservatives are routinely portrayed as racist, sexist, homophobic, anti-Muslim, and paranoid xenophobes.
But Gallup found some remarkable conservative strength all across the country. Their latest survey shows that liberals outnumber conservatives in only 6 states and that there are 25 states where conservatives are polling above their national average.
The number of states where liberals outnumber conservatives has dropped more than 30 percent, with just six now in that category: Massachusetts, Hawaii, Vermont, Washington, New York, and New Hampshire.
According to the latest Gallup survey, in every other state but California, where conservatives and liberals split 29 percent to 29 percent, conservatives lead.
Nationally, those who identify themselves conservative hold a nine-point lead.
The map is telling:
“The residents of most U.S. states are more likely to identify as conservative than as liberal in their political ideology. In 25 states, the conservative advantage is significantly greater than the national average, including 19 ‘highly conservative’ states in which conservatives outnumber liberals by at least 20 percentage points,” said Gallup.

Unfortunately huge numbers of dumbass voting RINOs self identify as conservative.

I hereby nominate you for the AIN’T THAT THE TRUTH award.
It’s the Independents. Plus 20% of Republicans who vote left.
Yup. Especially right-wing women. They talk right, vote left (emotion vote).
They are missing the independents, and that is the majority at this point. If people vote their pocketbooks, Trump will be in good shape. His administration has had consistently good polling on the economic situation in this country regardless of all the temper tantrums and Lefty tears of rage. The Popular Vote effort has peeled of blue states exclusively to this point, but that is about to change if the Democrat governor signs in Colorado since that is a gray state on this map.
The polls have Trump losing in a landslide on Realclearpolitics. It is clear that the sustained campaign of bad news stories that are reported and then ignored when they no longer pan out is having an effect. Pretty sure that is the grand plan. Weaponized unaccountability. Hopefully that Covington kid’s lawsuit changes some of that.
The poll that has Trump losing in a landslide is a robocall poll if my google search runs true. Emerson College. Who answers robocalls?
It looks like for all the chest thumping by Texans about being red-blooded conservatives, and being proud Texans etc., Texas is at best a pink state. No wonder Cruz almost lost...
Sometimes people just want to be on a team that fights hard. We finally have a republican who fights in Trump’s. Finally. God bless him. GOP should take notice that you can’t just have people who pray to win, or thinking you need a perfect image to win. You have to effing fight sometimes too.
At some point I think regular people get tired of hearing those others are racist sexist homo phobic Islamo phobic blank a phobic Blanca phobic blank a phobic !!!
it falls on deaf ears at some point
Either not enough conservatives went to the polls last November, or too many illegals and dead people did.

Yes, many women with whom I’m acquainted are in that category. Chesterson, one of my favorite writers. Great tagline.

Nobody on the right in Texas wants to talk about their Mexican problem.
