Nebraska State Sen. Ernie Chambers is taking criticism for calling the American flag a "rag" and comparing it to the Nazi swastika.
Chambers (I) made the comments Tuesday as he spoke out against a state bill that would update civics requirements for students.
"I don't come here for this rag every day, and it's a rag. That's all it is to me," Chambers said in reference to the flag. "When you show a way to persuade Jews to sanctify and worship the swastika, when you show me that I'll come up here and stand while you all hypocritically pretend that rag is something that it definitely is not."

Am I supposed to complement and praise Nebraska for making this individual a state senator? Or maybe you can list the exact names of those who voted for him, and then I can use their individual names so as not to offend Nebraska.

The shitbag is continually elected by his constituents in North Omaha who are the same ethnic persuasion as he is. He’s not elected by the majority of the state. It is the state legislature elected by small districts.
He has been doing this since at least the 60s. There was a short period where the seat was held by a corrupt Omaha city councilwoman, interestingly enough by the name of Brenda Council.
The long held myth in Nebraska is that the Unicameral legislature is non-partisan. Pure fiction.
None of the “non-partisan” state senators have the nads to stand up to him or they are “non-partisan” democrats.
From outside of the legislature, on the talk radio stations and the general public, he’s taking a beating over this but it will make no difference.

Hell Ernie’s been in the Nebraska legislature since before Nixon resigned! In fact they passed term limits mainly to get rid of him, which they did...for a few years. The idiot black woman who took his Omana seat was so stupid she used campaign funds to play the slots at gambling casinos and got caught, and Ernie was able to run again for his old seat after sitting out for four years, and won.

When the state amends it’s constitution (adding term limits for state senators) just to get rid of you, you gotta be a real piece of crap. It was widely understood that term limits got passed just to get Ernie out of the.Unicameral. He was out for a while but ran and won the seat again a few years back.
