Must be different charges. Manafort can not be tried for the same crimes he has plead to. See Fifth Amendment.

If I were on Manafort’s defense team, I’d be SERIOUSLY QUESTIONING whether the evidence against him was obtained legally - as in was the law followed regarding Muller’s appointment, since that’s where the ‘evidence’ against Manafort is coming from.
Trump barely knows Manafort. The RNC-e pushed him onto Trump’s campaign before they’d give him their support. I doubt he knows much if anything about POTUS that could hurt him politically, so why would he pardon him anyway?
Manafort was Trump’s campaign manager from the end of the primaries until the end of the convention.
His job was to keep delegates in Trump’s camp.
He was NOT the campaign manager during the Fall campaign.
