They originally were looking for a new place, then decided to choose two places, New York and Crystal City, Virginia.

I guess now they will just be at the Crystal City location, which seems a horrible place because it has terrible traffic, and is already overcrowded, but whatever.

Think about the proposals that practically every town created as part it. Demographics, spending, income, savings, education, infrastructure, plans for the future, capacities for everything. Analysis of the air, water, and soil. Everything you could think of...all neatly compiled and tabulated FOR THEM. In every case it was electronic document transfer.

All they had to do was upload it, and in those files was all the data government has on it’s regions and populations neatly prepared for them into nice reports.

Any yet every politician fell all over themselves to “bid” on this, and Amazon could look to see which politicians were the biggest whores.

They are all suckers.

"This announcement marks a landmark victory for our communities and shows the power of the people, even when taking on the world's richest man," said Deborah Axt, co-executive director of the anti-poverty group Make the Road New York.

Jobs? We don't need no stinkin' jobs says the director of the anti-poverty group.

Democrat New Yorkers - you really do have the best ideas, more green new deals, more taxes, more regulations - keep up the good work!

Sincerely, Successful Red States

Amazon is a Washington company. Their real issue isn’t taxes - which you can evade entirely with complicated international structures - it’s that trying to hire more employees in WA or CA is too expensive because of the housing shortage causing huge COLs. That’s why they were moving to Long Island city - it’s relatively cheap now - and it’s why locals opposed it - it would have made tents and home ownership unaffordable to those that aren’t current owners.
