He won PA by over 50,000 votes, he brought more than 300,000 more votes in PA than any Republican before, as he did in MANY of the other upper midwestern states, AND had the election been just a few days later he would have won MN as well...

Believe me, Dems didn’t “underperform” in the upper midwest... that’s a leftist lie... Trump did the one thing R’s should have been doing all along but never did... Offering the disenfranchised life long dems, who’s party had marched off a cliff and away from them, a REASON to vote Republican.

The Dems have moved even further left, had an standard republican candidate ran in 2016 we’d be looking at President Hillary right now, fortunately they didn’t. Trump isn’t going to lose a single vote from 16, and going to gain a lot more, regardless of who the Dems put up. The press can bash and attack and distort all they like, but if you think the people on the ground in the upper midwest don’t see first hand the improved direction, particularly of their smaller and medium cities and are moving under Trump’s policies, then you are just living in denial.

2020 Trump will win them all by larger margins. Your lack of understanding just what and how Trump won the upper midwest, is why you can’t see how he’ll win it again, and decidedly so. You put up a standard GOPe shill who refuses to learn the lessons of Trump and yes the upper midwest will swing back as those disenfranchised folks will sit out, just like they had done for elections before.... Trump as the candidate? Not a chance in hell, he will get all of them from 16 and a hell of a lot more.

There is no path to 270 for the Dems in 2020... And the smart dems know it, they are using 2020 to lay the ground work for their national organizations for 2024 when they have a shot.. and will not stick around TOOO long, so that they won’t have the millstone around their neck of being a loser in 2020.

The Dem who tops the ticket in 2020 will be a back bencher has been/never was, or some radical not ready for prime time fool, who’s sole purpose, will be to simply keep the party faithful motivated, so they don’t wind up fully slaughtered in down ballot elections. They have ZERO chance of winning... short of the two scenarios I outlined before.
