An Article 134 of UCMJ violation of some kind? Conduct unbecoming or order and discipline issues?
Just asking, no idea...
Are you really a JAG?
Possible it was a “Lt Kara Hultgreen” situation brewing and they wanted to nip it in the bud before the Airforce had that on their hands?
It was a PR nightmare for the Navy when that happened.
Because adulterers are deceitful and treacherous. They are vulnerable to blackmail, and they are just plain liars. It’s not good to have people like that in positions of leadership or trust. Thanks for asking.
Petraeus was head of CIA. Not in the military at the time. But, his paramour was. She nor he were charged with leaking classified materials.
It’s a less expensive way to get a USAF flight demonstration to places where the T-Birds aren’t scheduled to go. The Navy has a similar program. I’ve seen both at air shows. Not as good as T-Birds or Blues, but still pretty cool and good publicity for the USAF/USN.
“Or, another instance of the Peter Principle.”
Funny, the other day while in gun store I used the PP phrase and another fella looked at me and said—Good thing we’re all over 50 here..no one under 50 knows what the PP phrase means...
Have no idea on military reasons for dismissal for adultery (my long lost aunts, uncles, and cousins in France and Australia who we’re rather sure exist from my grandfather’s tours in WWI & II might argue for it...), but I do have a client who is former Army JAG — now working private law defending servicemen/women under JAG prosecution.
I think she finds defending them to be the more profitable venture.
Active Duty ping.
Its actually a great program. A single Fighter makes an appearance a a smaller air show. We had to shut it down during sequestration. I am happy to see its operation again.
OK
Obama policy ineptness promotion.
YES! And it took too darn long for it to happen!!
Is it any different among the branches?
My Navy ex-brother-in-law 25 years ago said the wives at home pretty much don’t wait around.
Didn’t like the SOB, so didn’t trust anything he said anyway. Maybe he was justifying his own behavior. Just remembering now.
Fraternization is frowned upon - sometimes actionable - in the military, especially among officers.
You're just finding this out now?
There is: TRUST.
If you cannot trust the person next to you, around you, or supporting your military role, you are in very deep trouble.
Saw the damage it did, firsthand, in the military.
And it was amazing how much some people could get away with during their escapades.
I used to wonder (out loud) about the amount of blackmail going on around the military bases.
Morals seem outdated, I guess.
I don’t care how good a pilot either gender is: Screw around and it’s a deserved demotion.
