Doug Jones will back Barr for attorney general
The Hill ^ | February 7, 2019

Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.) said on Thursday that he will support William Barr’s attorney general nomination, becoming the first Democrat to do so. “I have concluded that Mr. Barr is qualified for the position of Attorney General and his record strongly suggests he will exercise independent judgment and uphold the best interests of the Department of Justice,” Jones said in a statement.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is poised to vote on Barr’s nomination Thursday. The Senate is expected to vote on it this month.

Jones is on the ballot in 2020 in the deeply red state of Alabama and is widely viewed as the most vulnerable incumbent.

This needle-nosed usurper will do just about anything, if he thinks it will help his re-election efforts for 2020.

I got news for the damned fool: He ain't gonna get re-elected in the State of Alabama in 2020!

Mark my words.

He is. I cannot believe Donald Trump would select this guy as Attorney General. But then look who he selected in terms of William Sessions.

It’s a crazy idea, but I can only hope that Barr is a sleeper. Someone the Rats and the Republicans will look on as one of their own and approve his nomination. Only to be horribly surprised that he turns out to be a hardnose conservative attorney general.

I can dream can’t I?

If Trump had not selected Jeff Sessions, people would have complained that he didn’t select people who helped him campaign.

If a dummocrap like that is OK for Barr, then I’m not! Then he must be part of the Swamp. WHY is Trump getting fed the names of all these lousy people to fill important positions? Why does he need a Bush person? Let him make a fresh start. He keeps getting these weasels’ names whispered into his ear by his so-called advisors and then, after a year or so, the weasels go bye bye. Then he has to start all over again with someone new. You can’t make progress having to retrain people after a short tenure.

I live in Alabama. Unless the Republicans nominate an Idiot, Jones is gone. I suspect that Mo Brooks will be the next Senator from AL in 2021.

I would agree....Jones at best, will only get around 40-percent of the vote, unless Moore runs again.

Presently, the three top GOP choices are Mo Brooks, Del Marsh, and Steve Marshall (the AG for the state). All three are decent choices. On the positive side, Sessions has said he won’t run. On the far remote side....Bentley (our disgraced former governor) has not been discounted, and its possible that he might get into the race to miss it up and help Jones win.

More confirmation that Robert Mueller best friend William Barr is a terrible, horrible choice!

Mo Brooks is a good choice, he represents my district and has done a great job. Jones ain’t got a chance, there won’t be millions coming in from the cesspools of NY and CA.

I thought for a minute they meant Roseanne...but she might have been a better choice.
