It's time for the Income Tax to go.

A consumption tax with uniform credit floors is vastly superior.

RICO has replaced the IRS's ability to nab criminals using the tax code. The argument that the tax code was successful in taking down such monsters as Al Capone is old and irrelevant in the face of RICO statutes.

This section of the tax code is now considered to launch a fishing expedition on the President adding to the failed witch hunt. It won't work.

Democrats should understand the President can also cause to review taxes on Democrats. Hear that Pelosi?

The President as a private citizen had stringent accounting firms put his taxes together as he was audited each and every year by the IRS.

This will backfire on the Democrats and make the public even angrier at them than they are now if that were possible.

Let all the Dems who want his tax returns supply their own....Like the idiots who wanted to have trump background investigated while ignoring that the will of the people negated that requirement once one was elected...they are exempt because the people of their States elected them and that’s a whole lot less votes than the Nation gave Trump...

If they demand Trump’s tax returns, just ignore them. There is PLENTY of precedent. Use Hillary’s exact phrase that you will weed through it and forward them anything you think is relevant.

I disagree. Representative apportionment - Assign a percentage of the previous years spend to each senator and each representative and then calculate each state’s tax. The states would then be free to tax their citizens as they see best.

Good points and that would follow the original Sec 8 provisions of the Constitution.

I would vote for that but a long discussion and analysis would take place in Congress whereas HR 25 is fully onboard and clear.

Yes, it will backfire on them just as the approval polls showed POTUS overwhelmingly won the shutdown/SOTU flap.

I’d like to know how Marxine Waters can afford a multi-million dollar mansion on $174K per year.

"Upon written request from the chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives, the chairman of the Committee on Finance of the Senate...

Dems should be aware that this works both ways. It'd be a real hoot to have the Senate request the tax returns of the House Ways and Means Committee chairman...or threaten to, if Trump's returns are requested. His, and also Bill & Hillary's, Bernie's, Lieawatha's, Kerry's, Obama's, Booker's, Harris', etc., etc. Of course, the Pubbies would have to grow both a spine and a pair of cojones, but anyone can be pressured to not do something as obnoxious as requesting the President's tax returns. Oh, and if it is made public, the DoJ would need to be directed by the POTUS to investigate that - because surely it is a violation of the law.

Agreed. As we saw a sampling of that when Rachel Maddow made a big play at having Trump's 2005 tax statement, which turned out to be... stunningly ordinary. The look on "her" face was epic!

I think Trump is playing rope-a-dope on this. Seriously, were anything amiss on his taxes, would we not have heard about it ad nauseum? The dems are being set up for a big, well-deserved fall.

Is there anyone sitting on their commission who would understand Trump’s income tax returns without an accountant sitting next to them?

I’d take the law to the supreme court as unconstitutional in that it is being used to bypass the separation of powers to attack the president.

There is no crime alleged; it is a fishing expedition for a crime, so it is clearly intended to be used in a fight with the executive branch.

Agree 100%%. Schiff is in the crosshairs for an illegal leak. This is just a way to cover for corrupt pols as an excuse “he’s attacking us because we are getting close to his income tax evasion!”.

Trump knows that his many businesses, their management, and partners will be subject to violence, assault, sabotage when they are made known. He’s protecting them.

Nothing to do with tax evasion or Russian collusion, he was audited every year by the IRS, his taxes were assembled by the best accounting firms, even during the Obama years when the IRS was politically weaponized.

ALMOST TOTALLY DISAGREE.
Here is a ref to the Tax U Tout:https://www.ntanet.org/NTJ/59/4/ntj-v59n04p929-54-implementing-progressive-consumption-tax.pdf?v=%CE%B1&r=32345950754219155
It is a “Progressive” Tax that “dovetails’ with VAT etc per WTO. (Me thinks, they THINKeth of a CARBON TAX as well.)

No country, State or Province EVER repealed any other tax once the “correctional” BS tax was implemented. E.G. Canada and Ct which said, “if we have an income tax we will lower gas tax” - never happened. Politicians love taxes and NEVER let go of one. Canadian Provincial VAT tax on implementation gave credits for “Widgets” previous;y in inventory, and issued refunds (LOL) Crooks filed VAT credits causing refunds to be sent “offshore”. (When you get your tax I will look into that opportunity. Other than my citation, you did not furnish and explanation, JMO)

What Agency is most often used to track MONEY? IRS-CID. AUSAs frequently use them on Grand Juries that include RICO. Who made the Wall Street cases? SEC has NO criminal enforcement, CID did the investigations. In the 1960s thru early 70s IRS brought down most of Organized Crime, 95% of those convictions were run by IRS CID. The DOJ’s FIBs “No such thing as LCN.”

I AGREE THE WITCH HUNT WON’T WORK.

The (D)s understand turn about, they are doing it now, revenge for Bill C.

Better revenge would be “Lock her (Hillary) up.” But that would hurt him in 2020 b/c STOU made a big impression on (I)s. DJT would look vengeful and alienate the (I)s and women who flipped the House. The case vs HRC IS SOLID. (RICO included; right now I’d like to see the DNC hit with RICO as well.) See Judicial Watch articles etc.

Once he is elected, I believe Hillary will be brought down. TRUMP HAS KEPT OR TRIED TO KEEP EVERY PROMISE. RIGHT NOW TRUMP IS THE ADULT IN THE ROOM, not the DNC.
