Elections for the Virginia House of Delegates are taking place in 2019. The primary is on June 11, 2019, and the general election is on November 5. The filing deadline for candidates is March 28, 2019.

Heading into the 2019 elections, the Republican Party has a 51-48 majority in the state house. Republicans also have a 21-19 majority in the State Senate. The governor is not up for election in 2019. If Republicans retain control of a least one chamber of the state legislature, the state will remain under divided government. If Democrats win both chambers of the legislature, they will obtain a trifecta.

And in the spirit of following his advice on being bold enough to point out questionable acts in our own ranks, I'll be the one today to call a strike on Schlichter for his comment on Buckley's actions re: the John Birch Society. I believe that time and history have validated most of the JBS positions that Buckley found embarrassing back in the day. It's even possible that had WFB lived through the Obama years that we might have seen the publication of a mea culpa column to that effect. JMO - YMMV...

It is funny. GOP types wanted his hide over remarks on abortion. It appears the Rats felt his remarks on abortion were such a screw up he had to go but they didn’t want him to go over abortion remarks because that is a lack hole that will suck them all in so the Rats purposefully changed the reason he has to go to something THEY want people screwed for. In complete agreement. The Venona papers should have removed any doubt about the USSR's evil intentions, and how effective KGB 'Active Measures' projects were in undermining Western societies. If we had listened to the JBSers back then, we never would have had to endure 8 years of 0bama.

How do you defuse angry mobs? You refuse to give in to the immediate demands. You refuse to let them foment.

In short, you don’t let them have power as a group.
