WASHINGTON (AP) — In a bipartisan rebuke to President Donald Trump, the Senate has voted 68-23 to advance an amendment that would oppose withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria and Afghanistan.

The amendment from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says Islamic State and al-Qaida militants still pose a serious threat to the United States and warns that "a precipitous withdrawal" of U.S. forces from Syria and Afghanistan could allow the groups to regroup and destabilize the countries.

An 18 year campaign is a "precipitous" withdrawal? Interesting.

So the CiC has no power to do this? For a dictator, this president has very little power.

The pubs smell blood, other wise they wouldn’t have agreed to this charade. President Trump needs some big wins to slap the Chihuahuas back in line.

I think a good SOTU followed by some creative fence financing should just about do it.

$5.9 trillion wasted on trying to bring “democracy” to sub-human savages. Should have nuked them on 09/12/2001.

It’s not that they smell blood, it’s that they are the Warmongers of the MIC.

For them, war is good for business. It’s as simple as that.

How High should our national debt be raised to pay for the world police job?

Why isn’t China taking on the role of world police? They have tons of surplus dollars from trade surpluses for decades. Instead China is busy buying mines, oil fields, farm land, buildings, all over the world. China learned from Japan to not buy expensive golf courses or Hollywood studio’s. China only buys what makes profit and gives a return on investment.

While US is spending Billions to keep Syria & Afghanistan stable.

POTUS vetos their stupid bill. And they know he will, so it why do it?

Because they want to make a statement. Funny, Republicans never bothered to ‘make statements’ when Obama was ready with a veto.
