Conservatives struggling to understand why Democrats rejected POTUS Donald Trump’s compromise proposal on immigration last week when it contained several things they have either wanted or have supported for years need to come to grips with the fact that the rejection isn’t about 2020 or the politics of ‘now’ or even “compromise.”
It’s about the long-held Democratic goal of obtaining veto-proof, election-proof majorities in the House, the Senate, and the presidency for the foreseeable future.
On his progam Monday, talk giant Rush Limbaugh hit on this theme as he tried to break down and explain to listeners the details of, and meaning behind, the president’s myriad of compromise offers to Democrats in exchange for $5.7 billion in wall/barrier funding:
Here is the Trump proposal in a nutshell: A three-year extension of protection for DACA recipients. I think… What’s the number, 300,000 or 800,000 of ’em? A three-year extension of protection for immigrants under temporary status. $800 million in additional humanitarian aid for people showing up uninvited at the border. $805 million for new drug detection technology at our ports of entry. $782 million to hire an additional 2,750 border agents, law enforcement officers and staff. $563 million to hire 75 new immigration judge teams to fast track the processing.
That’s what Trump is offering in exchange for $5.7 billion to build the wall. Trump is gonna present this to the Senate since Nancy Pelosi is intractable on this. There are only 53 Republicans in the Senate, which would mean that seven Democrats have to join the Republicans, ’cause you need 60 votes for this. So it is my contention the president doesn’t expect this to pass...

George H W Bush also opposed welfare reform that President Clinton and the Newt Gingrich Republican congress created and passed and that he also said that if the Brady Bill were to have made his desk, he’d sign it. Therefore, there was that general idea or perception that GHWB was this sort of patrician type person who tended to act with moderate to conservative Democrat sorts of ideals. That in turn made him that much more vulnerable to people staying home, voting for Perot, or even Clinton who fashioned himself as the anti Carter and anti McGovern type of Dem. Therefore, one has to be careful when it comes to Trump and “read my lips” comparisons.
Exactly. Too many dismiss this as Trump hatred and denying a victory to him. The Rats are determined to stop the wall because it will work. Those are Rat voters pouring across the border. Trump hatred is secondary to keeping the invasion going strong. Once they finish AZ and turn Texas it is truly over.
It is interesting that all of these asses (including Obama and every other leftist) always say “that is not who we are”, in some judgmental claptrap. I have always “who the hell are they?” They sure as hell aren’t Constitution believing Americans. Perhaps that is not who they are and they should go back to where they came from.
Pelosi will not give in. This is her hill to die on. This issue will define the future of our Republic as much as Trumps election. Between now and Nov 2020 is our War for Indepence and CW II. Possibly bloodless. But decisive.
Non-citizens are NOT SUPPOSED TO VOTE. We have to be proactive in calling out each incident where it happens. Poll watchers carrying signs indicating that voting illegally is a felony might help, too.
Actually the alien population are more likely to be willing to work than many of our home-grown third or fourth generation EBT "clients".

Forget that crap. There will be one hell of a shooting war before that happens. And lots of hispanics in Texas are Republicans and many more don’t want those from “south of the border” taking their jobs.
I met my daughter in Austin last week and attended Governor Abbott’s 2nd inaugural. He is doing an excellent job of making his family an example for keeping Texas GOP. His wife Cecelia is the first hispanic first-lady of Texas, and they are both great people.

The problem is the California transplants that come here as more companies move to Texas.
That is true. But some of them simply evacuated CA because the insane are running the asylum there.
That population will be the first to be totally absorbed by the incoming alien population.
Their numbers overall are small, they do not reproduce at a faster rate than the invaders, especially considering that abortion is aimed at them, a good number end up in prison where they can’t reproduce, and another number of them seem to prefer reproducing with white women, which will also result in their being absorbed into a larger population eventually.
It’s just a matter of time. Tick, tock.
Working while still sucking up taxpayer funded welfare, doesn't make you less of a freeloading burden to the US.
The Democrats do not want any kind of voter-ID laws.
The Democrats want to legalize "vote harvesting" as they prototyped in California this last election.
Put those together and what you have is a plan to steal every single election they care to put the effort into. Sure, they'll let a GOP candidate win a few here and there. But be damn-sure that if they continue to get these three items, they will ensure Democratic "victories" in enough races to maintain majorities ever after. They are well on their way to creating (via rampant voter fraud) what is in effect single party rule.
That’s on US, not on them! They are using what our laws allow, and they’d be stupid not to do so. Change the laws so non-citizens are ineligible and the marginal workers will self-deport.
